Abnormally slippery but otherwise very good.
These shoes are very comfortable and provide great support. I hiked in them immediately (3 hikes 2 - 10 miles each) without having to wear them in, and I had no complaints.FIRST ISSUE: I did a 24-mile hike in 10 hours in the Santa Ana mountains and the only complaint I have is that something was rubbing my foot on the inside of one of the shoes, near where the side of where the tongue connects with the rest of the shoe - not too bad.SECOND ISSUE: Aesthetically, I don't like how fat the toe is. It reminds me of New Balance 574s, which a lot of people really like. I don't like that look.THIRD ISSUE: The only other negative note is that the rubber on the sole gets extremely slippery when wet, abnormally so. This matters when hiking on rocks, otherwise it's not a problem. It's more slippery than any other shoe I've worn. That was unexpected for hiking-purposed footwear, but it is a trade-off for the long-lasting sole material they choose, apparently.Overall, I think it is worth purchasing these. They are very comfortable, they offer good support, and they have held up well over the last 2 months and about 50 miles I've put on them. I give these four stars because the slipperiness can become a problem. When I hike I have to be far more wary of wet areas. It has been very inconvenient for river crossings and hiking up water falls.

Huge Fan
I purchased the Sandstone Blue, which came with blue laces. They're a great addition to the boot asthetically. I'm a fan.Looks: the leather is slightly darker than the photo, but it has a textured, rugged look that really makes the boot pop. The blue is a nice touch. This isn't the suede finish the other colors seem to have, it is more of a coarse leather. It is durable and good looking.Function: Wow. These are more comfortable than the Nike Air Max shoe sI use to walk my dog. The arch support feels like a massage. The ankle support gives you confidence as you walk. I hike 3 miles with my dog each evening, aside form her normal walks, and these were a game changer. To use a hyperbole, my feet felt invincible. They are incredibly light weight. The lacing system allows for a comfortable fit on the foot, and a snug support for the ankle.Seller: They answered my question promptly, and included a free, travel sized toothpaste in the package, and two coupons for food and drink companies. They also threw in an awesome sticker that will be a nice addition to my collection. All these backpacking companies have the sticker game going strong. I'm a fan, my water bottle is starting to show a lot of character.Summary: Great boot. Light weight, water resistant, comfortable comfortable comfortable. And, they look great. Leaving for a backpacking trip next week, excited to have these laced to my feet.

Good value
These are quite comfortable and have held up well over the 5 years I’ve had them.

Close to perfect.... so close.
I've been hiking about 20-30 miles in these so far. They fit similar to my Chaco sandals. Super happy about that. The MAIN reason I bought these is due to how my chaco sandals have held up and the performance they've given me over the years. Primarily, No twisted ankles. The boots have not once hinted at a rolled ankle. I think it's due to the wide foot bed and minimal heal incline. The only con....(and the reason I'm not giving 5 stars) The tread is fairly minimal for this boot.If it had the big gnarly tread, Like some of the sandal options... They would feel better in some of the funk I've put the boots in.

Very comfortable boots.
My feet are addicted to Chaco footwear. I have flat feet and the arch in sandals, and this set of boots, are good enough to make my feet feel good all day. I do like the sandals just a bit more, but when cold weather comes, they're not an option. Basically, these boots are sandals with soft leather uppers in lieu of straps. The leather is soft - not shiny. I'm not sure how well they will hold up to rocky, dirty environments, but I don't use them for this kind of work. No break in time - immediately comfortable. Price was very reasonable. I would buy these again.

Shockingly bad boot from a great sandal company.
My old Chaco boots (that I bought 10 years ago) finally gave out this summer. They had been with me through weened trips, 3rd world countries, and yard work. Those boots were bad-a. So I figure I would just replace them with the newer version.Within 4 hours I knew that these boots wouldn't work for me. First of all the color dark olive is completely different than here or on the chaco website. Imagine a shade slightly darker than the hulk. That is the color of Dark Olive. It looks kind of weird, but whatever. So I put them on in the house to see how they fit. I have high volume, wide, neanderthal feet. I always wear a size 10 or 10 1/2. These boots swallowed my feet whole. I don't know if a 9 1/2 would have been to large for me. They are long and wide. So I walked around the house for about an hour and found that the footbed is extremely comfortable. I figured I would try to make them work and tightened them up. Then I sat down to do a paper. Three hours later I noticed one of the buckles had broken off after 4 hours of light wear (mostly sitting and writing a paper) in the house. They felt great on the soles of my feet, too bad the boots failed in too many ways for me to pay $150 for them.

Chaco Sauce
Classic comfortable footbed. the leather upper is stiff, likely due to the ruggedness that is needed. so it needs some break-in time but is not uncomfortable. in time it will hopefully be as comfy as other Chacos I have owned. In my opinion it is a very good-looking boot and appears to have nice ankle support. Can't give 5 stars yet -- it's still new.

Very comfortable
This item shipped out fast packaging was done very good. I’ve had these boots for several months now, just wanted to give these boots a fair or the best review I could. True to size great ankle support very little brake in time not to much wiggle room for toes. Plus not a lot of extra cushion to make your feet sweat, very light weight and durable. The only thing I changed was putting in me arch supports which made it even better. I could wear the boots all week long. I would recommend these boots.
