BahcoMTS825E Auto Tape 8m/26ft Reversible Magnetic Tip

I've used tape measures in the building trade for 40+ years, mostly Stanley of various models.But this beats them all, it oozes quality, from the automatic lock out to the marking on the face and reverse side, the stainless steel blade should last longer than standard blades with no rusting.For a 8 metre tape it is not bulky, though I have large hands, the case is beautifully finished with no sharp edges.It is 100mm wide so makes measuring between a doddle, the blade is marked in imperial and metric both sides of the blade.Very impressed,I'm buying another,for a backup.

This appears to be a good tape measure, with an excellent blade, but it has one major weakness: the rocker switch has a metal bar running through it which rests within plastic moldings on each side of the case, if you drop tape and it falls on the orange switch, the impact will break the plastic molding on at least one side (as has happened to mine), dislodging the rocker switch, making operation of this tape measure more hassle than it's worth. That is a shame as this is an excellent tape measure otherwise, looks good, good smooth action, very good blade quality. The hunt for the best tape measure continues! This one came close, but needs improvement.

I don't generally get carried away with tools but this is a superb bit of kit. Oozes quality and feels brill. from the automatic hold as you pull the tape out to the double sided measure its just one well thought out, designed and manufactured product. Try it you will not be disappointed!!

This is great. Good, sturdy design for the body. I think the tape needs to be a bit more rigid.

Black on silver is not easy to read. Flimsy tape, the first 150mm started twisting after only a few days of use. Loved the idea of it measurements on both sides of the tape, metric only, stainless steel tape so won’t rust. But it twisted so quickly and is unusable now as it won’t hook and stay due to the twist. Stanley fatmax is all I can say.

Great for setting up tools, as it doesn't autoretract, which initially takes getting used to. Very clear, accurate reading on both sides which is so handy. Tape is pretty rigid so easy to read long distances

Unlike the other tapes this last long. It’s my second one. I lost it after three years.

Feels solid, operates smoothly and appears to be a well-made item. Not sure that Bahco still has the aura of quality that it did a few years ago but this is certainly a nice piece of kit. Unlike some cheap tapes this one won't cut you to ribbons as it retracts and an added convenience is the 4" length of the base - takes away some of the maths/guesswork.
