I bought a pack of these adapters to work with transformers that I purchased from this same seller. Admittedly, I held my breath when I plugged it into the outlet with the transformer attached, then turned on the transformer and finally turned on the laser printer that led to this purchase, but it all worked like a charm and put a smile on my face. :) The transformer can be Seen in the lower left of the my photo, and the printer is a Brother HL-L2340DW.

This is actually not my first purchase. I have purchased these before as well as other US-to-EU schuko wall socket adapters. Sometimes it’s helpful to have one of those adapters which allows you plug two US plugs into one adapter, usually depending on whether or not the US plugs in question are two-pronged or three-pronged.Many electric devices made today, especially within consumer electronics - chargers, phones, computers, audio/video etc - are made to accept US 110V and EU 220V either automatically or with a toggle. This is surely easier on the manufacturers not having to make different components and models for different markets. Make one device, sell it globally, and just include the very cheap power cable required by the country of sale. This helps us consumers as well. Buy devices in countries where the currency exchange and sales taxes or value-added taxes (VAT) are in your favor. Or just when you’re going somewhere to visit, study or work.What I like about these adapters:The color. All of my device power cables are black. All of my power strips in my country of residence in Europe are black. It’s nice to “not see” the adapter, especially when the power strip is desk-mounted and within eyeshot.The size. These adapters are just the right size to fit snugly into the schucko sockets. They’re neither too large nor too small. They not any larger than they need to be.The electrical connection. You can use either two-prong or three-prong US plugs and these adapters are grounded for use in grounded schucko sockets.Just don’t forget to ensure that your wall charger or device can accept EU 220V á 60Hz. If so then this adapter is all you will need for a good number of countries in Europe. Be sure to check because “EU” in this case does NOT mean “every country in the EU”. Not all EU-member countries are using the schuko socket standard. Eventually, maybe. Probably. But not quite yet. And the UK? They are most definitely NOT using shucko. Also be aware that it is possible to come across EU two-prong wall sockets and extension chords. You cannot use this particular adapter in those ungrounded two-pronged sockets but you can always use an EU two-pronged plug in the full size shucko wall sockets. If unsure or to be on the safe side, compliment with some two-pronged US-to-two-pronged EU adapters.

Worked we'll enough in Italy and Greece. I did have some trouble with an old apartment in Rome. The prongs were a little too fat to fit in some of the outlets. I suspect there are older models of outlets especially in the older part of the city.

This is my favorite adapter, and I've purchase a few different ones. As you can see it handles the three prong plugs and the polarized two prong (one blade bigger than the other). What you may not understand is that some European outlets are recessed and this adapter fits perfectly in them. This adapter also has a flat face to it, allowing you to plug in the bigger square power adapters you might have. Remember this is only a plug adapter and not a voltage converter. If you are going to plug in a piece of electronics you purchased in America, be sure to check it's rated power input. If it says 110-115v and not 220-240v then don't plug it in without a voltage convertor. The input on my I-pad charger said it was rated for 110-240v, so I was good to go and just needed this plug adapter. Don't fry your stuff, it might be hard to get a replacement on vacation.

Almost all of them fell apart. With no glue on hand, I was unable to repair. I left them in Amsterdam.

Ordered more of these today. Although others seem to be better quality here on Amazon these were the only truly reliable adapters for me. I've tried many -- higher priced. They did not compare and many truly do look, feel high quality... but the guts of the adapters fall apart in days. These are very good quality. None have failed in 6 months of use!

First impressions were good, but these adapters slowly eject what's plugged into them.

Get the job done. One pulled apart when removing it from the socket the first time it was used, exposing the hot wires inside.
