Black & Decker 420w 45cm Hedgetrimmer includes 16mm Blade Gap and T-handle design

I've just joined the 21st century having bought my first electric Hedgetrimmer. Wish I'd bought one years ago instead of sticking to my garden shears. So easy and light to handle. Cuts a treat giving a great finish to what were untidy bushes. Looking forward to the next trim. I'm really impressed with it,good value for money. Definately no contest against the shears.

Very easy to use. Not too heavy. Works on most hedge types. Bit noisy though

A brilliant trimmer provided the branches of what you are going to cut are not too large. I've struggled with a petrol hedgetrimmer for years, and I now realise I am daft, as this works really well and it about one tenth the weight, so is easy to swing around. It also starts first time (when you put the plug in!) and this is a definite bonus, so wins hands down on a petrol trimmer for cutting the more moderate stuff.

Well made, had no problems with tackling our overgrown hedge. Cuts well through most branches and managed to even cut nearby 1cm thick ones with a bit of effort. The switches are in the right places and easy to use all the time (unlike some rival well known German brand). Somehow I had no problems to cut the whole hedge evenly, which was my main concern before I started. Overall, another well made tool from B&D for a great price.

My previous hedge trimmer was too cumbersome and heavy so that my arms ached after 5 minutes of using it. So I was looking for a small, very lightweight one - and this one fits the bill perfectly. Still cuts through pretty thick hedges with no problem. Would definitely recommend if you are looking for something that is easy to handle, won't tire you out too quickly but still does the job brilliantly

Chose this above the closest comparable Biosch model, even though the latter was more discounted in price. This was because the Bosch reviews indicated that it was a bit fiddly having to keep two buttons depressed (or something along those lines). This is lighter than my old Qualcast and more efficent as I have finally managed to level out my hedge which I couldn't do before. This one cuts through the thicker patches with relative ease. I have only used it twice and happy with all aspects - except the cable length(!) which even when used with my extension lead, does not reach far enough to allow me to complete the job (having to use shears for those parts). Nevertheless, would recommend.

Black & Decker are renowned for quality products which is why I purchased this trimmer unfortunately the box was damaged, already opened and the trimmer used. Furthermore, its evident that it’s been in contact with some form of liquid as the instruction booklet was water stained coupled with the cardboard securing the trimmer in place, was also soiled.
