Probably fine for recording spoken word
These microphones are fairly harsh sounding, which I guess is to be expected for the size and the price. I was hoping to to use this for some basic acoustic guitar demos, but I'm not convinced I'm going to be able to get anything that sounds decent out of it. Probably fine for recording spoken word, but not music. It's constructed from a fairly cheap plastic and the gain dial doesn't feel like it's going to take much abuse.

Good hardware ruined by flaky app and lack of ability to use phone case.
On an iPhone 6S, it would sometimes operate mono (which is what the app should do only if the Zoom is not attached) and sometimes in stereo XY (which is what was required). It was impossible to always get stereo. Could not use with the Spigen case because the plug would not insert properly into the phone, even with spacer removed so had to carry the naked phone and hope not to drop it. The actual recorded sound is great but the flaky app and lack of ability to keep a case on the phone meant we returned the IQ67

Not perfect
Headphone jack doesn’t work with Skype when trying to record a podcast

A little noisy. Still a decent upgrade.
Relatively durable and sounds about as good as similarly sized/priced microphones. Wish it had a lower noise floor, though.

Excellent for unobtrusive audio recordings
I bought this microphone some time ago for recording my son's choir performing in church. The quality is excellent as it comes with software to record as a wave file. I really like it and am very pleased with the recordings made. I don't use it for recording video sound tracks and I am not sure its intended to be used in that way.

Tascam or Olympus would be better
Plastic and a bit ungainly on a slim phone, I sent this back and bought a Tascam DR30 which you should consider if live music is your bag. The Olympus voice recorder with this style of angled mics seems to pop up on TV - i.e.in a live interview scrum - consider this if you want superior outside broadcast sound.

This is the perfect piece of kit for wannabe podcasters
This is the perfect piece of kit for wannabe podcasters. Not great range for video-ing a group of people or a room, but excellent for one 2 one intereviews. Brilliant for audio. Saves you a fortune not having to buy a full on recorder. It doesn't plug in with thick phone cases, but fine for leaner skin style cases. I just take my kid-proof case when I want to use it.

Excellent compared to iPhone mic
I was so impressed with the IQ5, that I decided to get the IQ6 for voice only recording and as a second device. The IQ6 does not have the mini-USB charge line-in (as per IQ5) to power up the iPhone, but otherwise is much easier to use for voice recording. The stereo recording (compared to the iPhone mic) is remarkable, especially using headphones to hear the playback.
