Very good ear plugs
These ear plugs are slightly larger than some, so they are good for wider ear canals, but even in my small ears the larger size feels snug, I find, and I think it does make them more efficient at keeping out noise. They do a good job of blocking out sounds and are quite comfortable. I use a variety of different plugs for sleeping as I am such a light sleeper, and using them every night does eventually cause the skin to become sore, but I can use these for longer than the foam plugs before that happens.I have to cut the ends off because they are uncomfortable for me if I lie on my side, as they push the plug against my ear too much (even though I have inserted properly), but there are no problems with retrieving them to take them out as I don't cut them that short. If using when not sleeping, the wider base feels like an extra baffle against sounds. One of the essential plugs to keep in my kit, I order them regularly.

Best replacement to 3M 1100
I used the 3M earplugs for years but they reduced the quality to make them basically useless, but these earplugs are a very good alternative. Made in the USA and are sufficiently dense to actually block out noise. I think these will be my staple earplugs going forward despite the ridiculous pricing. £32 for 200 pairs is just way too much.

Comfy and keep out the noise nicely
I've been using these on and off for a few years now and find them very handy. I don't always need them, but I live on a busy road and if I wake up at certain times, they're a godsend to cut out the noise of traffic or people coming home after a night out!Everyone's ears are different obviously, so you can't know how good a fit you will get until you try them, but for me these fit well. I have tried the laser lights in the past for example and they were a bit too small for me. However, I gave them to my sister and they fit her nicely. When you first start using a pair of these, they squish down nicely while rolling between your thumb and finger and are very easy to insert into your ear. They are soft and smooth and don't cause any pain and discomfort for me.After several uses, they will begin to lose their effectiveness - they don't squish down the same or stay squished as long, meaning they are harder to get into your ears and don't fit as snugly. Eventually you'll likely wake up with one or both having fallen out of your ears if you use them too long. It seems to vary but I do seem to get quite a lot of uses out of each pair.I might just be imagining it (or maybe my ears have changed slightly over the years!) but with recent sets I've used, the maybe don't feel quite as good as before - I'm not sure if they fit quite as snugly or last quite as long. They are cheap and individually packaged and keep out the noise though, so I'll keep using them for sure.

Best earplugs
My partner snores like a train so I usually end up sleeping in the spare room. I've tried ear plugs before but they never block out enough of the noise for me to be able to sleep. I bought these earplugs on a whim and they're one of the best things I've bought. They block out nearly all noise and I'm finally able to sleep through the night uninterrupted. I can still hear important things like my phone or alarm though. They're very comfortable to wear; other ear plugs have left my ears very sore in the morning but I don't even notice I'm wearing these. They don't put too much pressure on the inside of my ears either. Will definitely buy again.

A plug for these plugs
I bought these for my partner, who suffers from my snoring. She has tried many different earplugs bought over the counter -none have been anywhere near as good as these. We were led to these through trying the multicoloured "Laser Lite" version of ear plugs that Howard Leight make, given by a friend. These are just that much bigger, but fit her small ears just as well as the Laser Lite after compression before insertion. They gently re-expand, filling the ear canal. She has found them comfortable and effective. The ultimate proof of their worth is that she can now sleep through my trombone-like snoring. At the price for these on Amazon, and given that each set will last for several uses before losing their ability to re-expand, they are a very cost-effective buy.AAPS our friend has found the Laser Lite to be as good as we found these -so they may be worth a try too.

Not for people with small ear canals
I have narrow ear canals and was undecided whether I should try the Howard Leight MAX or try the Quies Protection Auditive, in the end I ordered both. The first ones I used were these. I found that the would not expand in the ear canal, instead they would expand and then pop out into the ear. without them blocking the ear canal they are about as useful as cotton wool, and I could hear my husband breathing never mind snoring!. The material they are made from is smooth and shiny but also slightly sticky which means it drags on the inside of your ear. when I woke up in the morning the ear plugs were in the bed and I had a burst blister in the inside of my ear. The only reason I have given this 3 stars is because they may be useful for people with larger ear canals, but for me they were useless. A few days later when my blister healed I tried the Quies. they were smaller, fitted nicely inside the canal and didn't pop out, the material is soft and velvety and did not cause any discomfort. The plugs were still in place in the morning I dont hear any noise with them in.
