Wusthof cooks knife
OUCH !! Watch out, this knife is really sharp. I cut myself badly on my second use so I am really careful with it now. This knife is wonderfully weighted and comfortable to handle (bandaged finger notwithstanding). Highest quality steel with the shaft running the length of the handle. I am ordering a knife stand to store this knife and the others I plan to buy so as not to have this in a drawer - not a good idea if your drawers are bulging like mine. Highly recommended but use with care.

Perfect Cook's knife
The knife is well balanced, holds a good edge and has a comfortable handle. For me it's the right size for most general cooking activities and, taking the quality into account, is not silly money.

Buying second time as the first one snapped!
Very good knife, bought it second time as the first one fell on the kitchen floor and snapped! Never seen a knife breaking like this before. From other reviews looks like it is a common problem with this. But overall the knife is great, good quality, comfortable in the hand. P.s. amazon offered a refund for the previous broken one even though the knife was bought more than a year ago. so perfect service on top of that!

wow, it's a good one! really sharp, good sized blade, holds sharpness fairly long. worth every penny! bought 6'' sabateur previously for half the price but it's not even close to this one!

Ferociously good.
This is an utterly magnificent knife. Thanks to Amazon I now have two! Having previously purchased a 16 cm 4582, I happened upon this advert for a 15cm cook's knife at a very good price. So I bought it, courtesy of the fatal one-click button. The knife arrived next day, but it is a 16cm 4582, identical to the one I already have. On researching the Wusthof website I see that they don't make a 15cm cook's knife. Don't let that extra cm put you off. These are magnificent knives that exude a feeling of real quality. They hold their edge for ages and are easy to sharpen

Nice knife
I already have a smaller one so I know the quality is good. I just wish they'd stay sharper for longer and that when I sharpen them, they became as sharp as when I bought them!

Became blunt very quickly
Although being careful and using wood boards the knife lost its sharpness after a month. Still usable but struggle with softer items. Was not expecting that from this item.

If I could only have one knife it would be a full blown (20+ cm) chefs knife. But luckily, we have choices and this 6" version affords a degree of versatility which can only be achieved by its big brother with difficulty. Slicing, dicing mincing this is such an easy knife to use. Mind you, I wouldn't like to cut big, or big hard produce like whole pumpkin with this. Even cutting a full cabbage in half with this requires determination. But chopping veg for a mirepoix or chopping herbs is a dream, as is extra fine dicing of onions. It has sufficient weight and blade width so you don't struggle like you would with a cheap lightweight knife. I'm very happy with this knife.

Not too big, not too small. Most chef's knives are too big. For many things, paring knives are too small. Utility knives usually lack heft. Then there is this knife, Wüsthof quality at its best. 150mm-ish blade, but a wide, heavy blade that takes an excellent edge that cuts very well, whether veggies or meats. It has a flat spine for moving stuff around on the cutting board. Balance and ergonomics are a delight in the hand. This is far and away my favorite kitchen knife now. E.M. Van Court
