Great lights you can use anywhere
After building a gym in my back garden and as of yet not run any power into it i needed some form of lighting for my gym to be used at anytime.I first went for a mr beams light which when placed into the centre of the room (16ftx8ft) covered the whole area in light and stayed on until i moved into a blindspot of the sensor activating a 20 sec timer of which the light would turn off. Mr beams light didn't have a 360° sensor so it wasnt a great light source for what i needed as lifting weights in the dark prob isnt a bright idea 😉So i searched online for battery powered light sources ideally with an on/off switch or a 360° sensor at least.I came across these and was intrigued as they looked similar to light fittings you would have indoors with a pull handle.I orderd two incase they wasnt very bright. When they arrived i installed them in the gym with ease. You just drill the backing plate into your roof beams and then clip the light into it. Really simple and quick. The light takes 3 big batteries and can be alittle heavy so as some have stated when pulling the cord the light can remove from the backing plate but i have only had this happen once. I think as long as you pull the cord straight down and not at an angle or yank with force then it will stay in place no problem. The brightness of the lights were perfect and tbh if i only orderd one light it would have still produced enough light for what i needed. The batteries last a good while too being used for about 5-7 hours a week they lasted a good couple of months.Overall i am very very impressed with these lights so much infact i have ordered two more for my farther inlaw.Pros• look just like normal lights• good brightness• easy installation• long lastingCons• maybe a more better clip could be used to stop the two parts separating (very minor issue)

Very versatile light
Brilliant little light very versatile you can put it anywhere where there is a limited electrical supply, I have mine in my detached garage

Simple and effective.
Used it to light cupboard under the stairs. Perfectly ok for that and only minutes to install although I used four screws rather than just the two supplied for extra stability.Be sure to click the light firmly onto the base. First time I pulled the light cord it came out of its mounting. Not a fault with the product, just that I hadn't been careful to make sure it had slotted fully home.

Brilliant product
I bought this loft light for my large summerhouse that I converted into a home gym not being able to afford to get it wired up to the mains I thought I'd give these a go . Oh boy to say I'm pleased is an understatement they are very well built and sturdy most similar lights the cords break after a few tugs not these nice and robust the light is a nice white light and I now have 3 covering 16ft by 10 ft and it lights up the gym perfect . I did intend writing this when the batteries ran out but after 4 months ( 3 times a week for 1 1/2 hrs each session ) they are still going strong 6 Duracell d batteries costing £7 so that's £3.50 per light and already I haven't had to replace them in 4 months I work out that's over 72 hrs already brilliant value for money so if anyone is unsure about purchasing u work out the price of each unit and the battery life and it's 10/10 in my back worth every penny and prompt delivery and well packaged in fact I've just ordered another one for my loft

Good light
Bought for a stable without electric as need to muck out in dark mornings. Gives plenty of light and secure fitted to the wall. Cant comment on battery life as only had a couple of weeks

Super, versatile battery light
This is a brilliant light. It's very easy to set up (just screw the back plate in place and then click the unit on to it) and gives out a good light. Some reviewers have said that if you pull the cord too hard the unit comes off the back plate but as you don't need to pull it hard, I can't see that this is an issue. Don't know about battery life yet but it seems good so far. I've now bought three of these, for the loft, the cupboard under the stairs and to light up a dark corner in the study. Highly recommended.

Great light for a garage
Purchased this for my garage, which is approx. 2.5m x 5m. The light is easy to install and easy to use. It does require 3xD batteries, which isn't made clear in the description.I screwed the light straight into a joist, ensure it's secured properly as pulling the string to turn it on may pull it down! It does provide a bright light, although i don't think you could work under it. The reflective strip provided with the pull string is a nice touch that helps when trying to find the string in the dark.I only use this light for short periods of times when rummaging through my garage in the dark, so i'm confident the batteries will last for a long time. Battery change will be easy and will not require unscrewing the whole thing.

Does what it says
Bought a couple of these for our loft space as I couldn't be bothered with running proper permanent lights up to a space we basically use to store our junk in!Were pretty simple to fit, just two screws and you're away. Cord is a generous length and the addition of a reflective tab to stick to the cord so you can see it in the dark was a clever touch. They throw a decent amount of light, certainly enough so that I'm able to find my way around in our loft with just the two at the moment. But I've just ordered a third one just to make the far reaches of the portion we have currently boarded out a bit easier to navigate! Our loft is 35sq metres in total and I think 4 of these would be adequate if we had the whole lot boarded and were actually using the whole space.Have marked them a 4 star simply because I'm not sure on what the battery life is like just yet. :)
