Yutaka Premium Sushi Rice 5 Kg

This is high-quality rice at a reasonable price. Works very well for Sushi and I also use it as a substitute for arborio rice when making risotto. Both work well - not much more you can say about rice.

The quality is good. No old-rice smell, delicious. Vacuum packed to keep freshness in. Similar to Japanese uruchimai, even though originario is an Italian grain. Its good for sushi as they say, but also other Japanese meals, and other East and Southeast Asian meals that require a good quality half-sticky rice.

I've only been able to get small packets of sushi rice at the supermarket, and I was going through it too quickly, so I decided to try this one. It is much nicer rice than that from the supermarket, both in look (lovely small grains), taste, and texture. It has just the right degree of stickiness, and makes great onigiri.

This is one of the best rice you can buy, not only perfect for sushi, but general use too and our kids refuse to eat any other rice.Having been in Japan, this tastes exactly as good rice you can buy there.We've used several bags already and quality is consistent, so we're coming back for more.Recommended!

These are really good rice and i love them. The product itself is amazing. I make mine in a rice cooker and use a 2:1 of water to rice.However some of the batches come air tight while some don't. I don't understand why there is a variation. There are no holes but the consistency in packaging quality can be improved. The vacuum tight packaging gave the unopened bag it's shape which i prefer.Edit 1: The packaging quality control has been improved and is now consistent! We are regularly using this rice and love the quality.

For the price this is pretty decent, I just wish it had a bit more of a rice flavour and fragrance to it.

I eat rice almost everyday as I am Japanese.I usually buy 500g Yutaka rice from Sainsburys or Tescowhich cost £1.80 - £2So this 5kg bag is a lots cheaper.Also the rice produced in Italy so I can t trust.Also comes in a air tight bag.I think this rice is as good as Japanese one but slightly smaller rice. Good for Sushi.The price changes all the timeSo watch it.Highly recommend it if you eat rice often.

Mine was vacuum packed but I wouldnt have cared if it wasn’t. How did I go my whole life eating normal rice. Normal rice is disgusting compared to this. You could even eat it plain if you want. About to buy another bag. Just amazing
