Oypla 5 String Bluegrass Banjo with Remo Skin

I’ve been looking for a five-string banjo for quite a while now until came across this one on Amazon which ticked all the boxes for me. The banjo itself is solidly built with the body and neck being made from Sapele, which is a form of mahogany widely used in guitar making. The metalwork and tuners are also made out of good quality material’s, with everything being well put together. The only thing that I had to do was et the bridge in place, which is a relatively easy operation, even for someone with little luthier skills. This banjo has a 26-inch scale length and to find the correct position for the bridge you simply measure 26 inches from the nut, mark off the distance on the banjo head, loosen the strings, slide the bridge under them and re-tighten the strings again. For a more detailed explanation of how to do this just Google “How to set the bridge on a 5-string banjo”. Once everything was correctly set up and the strings tuned to pitch, I was surprised at the wonderful woody yet metallic tone this banjo gave. I’m now learning a few chords and runs with the aid of an excellent book that I bought along with my banjo. Also included with my instrument was a soft gig bag, a spare set of strings, plectrums and a quality banjo strap. All in all, I’m very impressed with this banjo and have no hesitation in recommending it to others because for less than £120.00 it just can’t be beaten!

This isnt my first banjo,I was looking for a open back that I wasn't to presious about but couldn't find one for the price I was willing to pay so took the resonator of of this one and I absolutely love it ,this banjo has a lovely warm sound and after setting the bridge and tuning it up I have been well away , I was honestly surprised by just how cheap this banjo is and how well it plays and sounds , I imagine there are much worse banjos then this out there for double the price

I was really impressed with this banjo, the price was perfect for learning and its quality is very good and secure to learn with. However its sound quality as well as feel does not compare to the up-market banjos on the market. I had an issue with the strings when it first arrived however that was insignificant to what an amazing product this is.

I have wanted a banjo for many years so my wife took advantage of the lockdown to get me the opportunity to learn at last.The sound of the banjo is excellent especially at this price, the only thing that could have improved this purchase would have been for a hard case option to be added but you can’t have everything.Thank you for rapid delivery of a great sounding product. I look forward to playing many a tune on my new banjo

Brilliant product - only thing I would say is buy spare strings - as setting up for the first time can result in accidents!One criticism would be useful to have a book with this just to explain the setting up process - but very happy with this beginner banjo
