It comes as a almost completely flat rectangle. It takes a while to fully absorb water, and you need a very generous amount for it to expand all the way. I would recommend breaking off small bits, completely expanding and adding more as needed as it grows more than you think. Really good for using as and when needed compared to live sphagnum moss which will need using asap and can’t been stored for as long.

I've brought this product twice because I was impressed with the quality. It comes in a really condensed block, but expands with a little warm water. My Gals is very happy burying himself in a good mountain of moss

The media could not be loaded.  Firstly here is the reason I personally purchased this Sphagnum Moss ;Ok so I've been looking into 'Air Layering' plants which is basically cloning a plant whilst it still being attached to the parent plant. There was a lovely Lilac Bush (as big as a tree) that gives a wonderful sweet fragrance every year, I did try to purchase one online and I waited 2 years for it to flower only to find out it had no fragrance..so I researched into how I could possibly find the same bush.I learnt that you can actually clone a tree using this Air Layering technique, which basically means it will be an exact copy in every sense, including the fragrance which is what I seek !...the great thing about using the Air Layering Technique is that you can clone a branch that is already 1-3 years old, so you don't even need to wait until it matures and the branch stays on the tree until it roots and you cut it off (Takes roughly 2 months).Now onto the product itself, the technique requires you use Sphagnum Moss to keep the moisture on the cut, and when this particular product arrived, my heart sank..I thought I had made a mistake..and ordered the wrong product as it was absolutely tiny !...however fear not, as this product expands to an absolutely massive size, I won't go into further detail, watch the video and you'll see what I mean !Did the job I required it for. Great stuff !

This is one I purchase regularly for my small online terrarium kit shop.Pros:It's extremely handy to store as it takes up a minimal amount of space until the moment you need it.It feels like a high quality moss and does the job of a sphagnum moss brilliantly.It even smells good - like I'm handling a high quality piece of moss.The amount you get when you put water in relative to how small it is when compressed is phenomenal - a little really does go a long way.Cons:None really - for my purposes, I'd like there to be a bit more in each brick but that's just because I use loads of it!

Got this for my orchids, I used only little bit, rest is stored in airtight container, will last for ages.

Dried moss works perfectly well for moss poles and prop boxes and the condensed size works well for postage and home storage, particularly as many of them can fit through your letter box.This size pack, provides enough moss for a 60cm/24in half moon moss pole or a medium sized prop box.It's certainly not a bargain price, but if you only need a relatively small amount, then it saves you paying more for a larger amount that you then have to store until needed.For the reviews that complain that it's "dirty", it is moss after all? I personally rinse it through with a hydrogen peroxide dilute, but that's to ensure that there are no 'plant pests'.

La en tredjedel i en hink med varmt vatten. Lät ligga i en kvart .Svällde mycket, kanske 8-10 ggr sin storlek. Rensade ur lite barr, några småkvistar och löv. (Inte så farligt mycket). Används till orkideér. Helt ok. Nöjd.

Op zich wel goed mos, maar ik had meer verwacht, maar dat kan natuurlijk aan mij liggen. Klein blok, waar weinig mos uit kwam.
