Simply the best!
I've had a pair of these since the 1980s and they were getting a bit tatty to say the least, so I treated myself to the current model. Very comfortable, nice and bright so hard to mislay, really good sound isolation.I use them for hammer drilling around the house, grinding, vacuuming and virtually anything that is noisy, as they keep the level down so well. 3M are a great manufacturer of safety products and these are a fine example of their product.Don't waste your money saving a pound or two on lesser brands - these are worth every penny!

Have lasted a year
Had them a year and the cushions have gone very flat with regular wearing- will be reviving them with a hygiene kit (new cushions and foam) . Prior, they've been good for lawn mowing, leaf blowing and ok for neighbour noise.

Good 3M quality.
Good 3M quality. Used for DIY. They fit well, are low profile and do the job. If you need more attenuation, go for Optime IIIs.

A Good Compromise To Wear In Bed When You Have Noise Next Door
I bought a '3M Peltor Optime III Earmuffs' a few years back to counter anti-social neighbors next door keeping me awake until 4.30 in the morning. People used to go to pubs in the evening and late night but now they scream and yell all night in their paper-thin house extensions or in the garden without a thought for the people who live nearby. My first set were effective at blocking the noise but uncomfortable to wear in bed. It's a bit like trying to sleep with a couple of saucepans strapped to your ears. It's impossible to lie on your side. I therefore gave these a try looking for less sound reduction and more comfort. They work. I can lay on them on my side in bed. They don't block out as much noise as my saucepan pair but unless the neighbors are being especially selfish they are a good compromise. You can always increase effectiveness by putting little rubber ear plugs in your ears under the ear protectors to give two layers of protection.

Comfortable ear protection for domestic use
I have a big head and big ears, so most ear defenders aren't too comfortable. These are very adjustable, perfectly comfortable, I can wear them for hours without any discomfort. Not too bulky, do't get in the way. They reduce noise levels significantly, I use them when mowing the lawn or using noisy power tools, but can still hear enough to tell if the phone rings or my wife shouts at me... I may buy one of the bulkier, more expensive versions for when I want perfect tranquillity, but these are good for now. BTW I bought some Peltor hearing defenders (for pistol shooting) 35 years ago, used them a lot, and they've only just started to fall apart; 3M bought Peltor, the design seems very similar.
