Moleskine Classic Ruled Paper Notebook, Hard Cover and Elastic Closure Journal, Color Black, Size Pocket 9 x 14 cm, 192 Pages

I have had a paperblank notebook and I thought I would try a different brand to see what is was like. I have two paperblanks, one small which I use a lot and carry around with me. The other bigger which I leave at home. The small one has got a bit battered, and the cover has come off from the notebook itself (this is wear and tear). The big one is looking still neat at home on the bookshelf. Now lets talk about size and paper quality- The same size notebook from Moleskine and Paperblanks are different. The depth of the moleskine is much less than that of a paperblank, PLUS it has more pages. I guess this additional thickness comes from the cover. The Moleskin hard cover looks pretty good and sturdy, only time will tell. The quality and thickness of the paper in both appears to be the same. Neither like my fountain pen very much, even though I have a fine nib. The ink shows through on the following page. On the Paperblank, the ink even fades - not sure if it is the fault of the ink though. I have yet to test this on the Moleskine. Both have inside envelope sleeves for storage of things. Moleskine looks very smart / professional, while the Paperblanks have great designs - if size is not too important, then it is a matter of choice of looks as the paper is pretty much the same, but for those who need even the extra couple of mm that the Moleskine can free up in your pocket / small bag then the choice is clear. The weight is about the same.

I've used many notebooks in my time for keeping notes and drawing. You may ask why pay this much for a note book? It's well designed the curved corners that sit flush with the paper itself will stop it catching on other items, it also stop those unsightly dog ears that plague hard back covers the elastic keeps it all together and the ribbon bookmark is extremely handy in keeping your place. The paper grade is excellent, paper is smooth great for writing on, ink stays well, and doesn't run to opposite pages, or bleed through, with 192 pages in this tight package. it's well worth it. It looks great, feels solid, and writes well it's everything you want in a compact notebook, and hell it looks great as plus.

I have used Moleskine pocket ruled notebooks for a few years and decided to leave a review. I don't tend to buy such products because Hemmingway used them, or they may/may not have appeared in Indiana Jones films. I buy them because they are a sturdy, yet discreet notebook. The paper quality is excellent - of course, if you're going to use a heavy marker or pen, then it's going to show through. I find using a simple biro/ball point works really well and doesn't show through. The main thing is that I can carry the notebook around and there's plenty of pages to me going for several months. It hardly costs the earth, so if you're unsure, just buy one. You won't regret it. If you want to look like a ponce or pretend you're some great writer, then I'd suggest you buy one of the more expensive brands that are available. This isn't the notebook for you.

I use this as my to-do list and weekly planner at work because I wanted to add a little class to my note taking, above Tesco Value ruled paper, anyway! The finish is really nice, the size really does fit a pocket very easily, but for me that's part of the issue. I think I should have gone for the size up from this as I sometimes find myself running out of room (trying to keep each week to one two-page spread). I didn't even know it had a secret-pocket type affair at the back, so that was an interesting find. No idea what I'm going to put in there but I'm sure I'll find something! My only other complaint - and I'm not sure if this was just my notebook or all of them - but the very first page was glued too far up the page, making it quite annoying to use, but once I got past that first page the rest are fine. Overall I'd recommend it, but be sure this is big enough as it is very small (probably not much taller than an iPhone 5).

The pages are lined, the lines are narrow and grey and do not overpower what is written on them. The book seems quite robust and well made. How robust it is I don't yet know... time will be the judge of that! It has a built in fabric bookmark, a page sized pouch in the back and an elastic strip to hold it closed. If you need a pocket book, this is a good one.

It’s fine for what I need it for

If you're getting it only because Hemingway had one then you'll be happy. If you're getting it because you want a notebook you can keep in your back pocket for a week and will still feel and look good, then you'll be happy, too. It looks good, is very practical and is very well made and extremely sturdy.

Perfect size for what I wanted, fits nicley in the back pocket and feels nice in the hand! Enough page space/lines to write lists, notes and doodle on. Happy for the price paid and delivery was fast.

以前のMoleskineを使い切った為、新しいMoleskineとして購入しました。 やはりMoleskineといえばコレですね。ハードカバー、黒、ポケットサイズで、横罫。 初めてMoleskineを買うという方にも、無難に扱いやすくてオススメです。 最近は、以前ほどMoleskineブランドに力がなくなってきていますが、自分は使い続けますよ！ 何だかんだ言って、使いやすいし、カッコイイし！

The size is significantly smaller than I expected, but the paper is of impeccable quality and the cover is smooth, yet so sturdy it looks as new even after one year of use. Def. recommend if you have extra money to pay for the quality and durability.

Je cherchais un carnet pour mon quotidien, noter un tas de trucs et ce carnet est ligné. C'est vraiment parfait, son format rentre dans des poches de pantalon d'homme et sa couverture est rigide. C'est un carnet bien pratique à avoir tous les jours sur soi ! Merci amazon pour la rapidité de l'envoi et je recommande bien-sur la marque Moleskine pour sa qualité qui n'est plus à faire...

Seit Jahren nutze ich die Moleskin-Notizbücher (DIN A 6-Format) für Aufzeichnungen, als Reisetagebuch u. ä. Die Qualität blieb immer gleichbleibend gut auf hohem Niveau. In der Hardcover-Version sind sie nicht gerade preisgünstig, aber die Haltbarkeit gleicht das wieder aus.

Qu'y aurait-il à dire de neuf ? Voilà plus de 20 ans que j'utilise ces carnets Moleskine (les agendas aussi) et j'éprouve toujours le même plaisir. La qualité du papier et de la reliure cartonnée n'a jamais baissé d'un cran. Le format "de poche" permet de l'emporter facilement partout. Et il est tellement agréable de continuer à prendre des notes manuscrites, à côté de l'omniprésence des claviers et autres écrans !
