What's not to love?
This impact wrench will have a huge impact (see what I did there?) on the way you work. It is extremely effective at removing even the oldest, rustiest nuts & bolts that you can find. The 3 speed settings offer great versatility for all types of fasteners and on setting 3 nothing is a problem for this little device. It feels solid and well built as you would expect if you've ever owned any other Ryobi products. The bright colour makes it easy to spot on the garage floor - even if sometimes it can be confused for the drill - and it really feels like a premium product. One crtiticism that applies to all Ryobi tools and not just this impact wrench is that it can be difficult to clean, and dirties very easily, but ultimately it is a tool and that's always going to be the case. Working in dark areas is a lot easier now too; I was sceptical when just trying the LEDs out in the open in the middle of the day, but once I was underneath the car removing bolts I realised the sheer brilliance of these lights, they're perfectly adequate for seeing what you're doing. This is the perfect choice when you consider the batteries will work with any of the Ryobi range (and there's a tool for everything in the ONE+ Range!). I'd really recommend buying this item, it's very powerful and matches/outperforms some of it's more expensive competitors. What's not to love?

This is a MUST HAVE tool for any garage
I had to remove the under chassis bracing on my R52 MINI Cooper S convertible to remove the old exhaust/fit a new one. The braces are held to the chassis with torx head bolts. The bolts initially broke free with a break bar, undone approx. 3mm then stuck solid. They wouldn't come out and couldn't even be tightened back in! Because so tight/rusted the torx bit then kept slipping off, so bolts were totally stuck. Tried applying heat with the blow torch but still stuck. The bolts had previously been sprayed every 2nd day over the course of a week to make sure they would come out easily (which they didn't!) Bought this Impact wrench as a last hope and also bought the 5ah battery and charger separately. Tried the impact wrench on them and still stuck, even on highest setting. Applied just a small amount of heat back with the gun. It sat clicking for a few secs then boom, first bolt out!! Next 5 all came out first try! When it came to refitting, I tried screwing the bolts in with a normal ratchet but they wouldn't go back in. This was after soaking them in a container of wd40 for a week, along with wire brushing them and applying copper grease to them. Also did this to the holes they were screwing into in the chassis. Used the gun and it popped them back in, although used it on it's lowest setting as didn't want to risk screwing them in too tight/shearing the head off. The 1st turn of screwing back in the gun did it's clicking thing as it was trying to screw them in. Loosened them/tightened them a few times, now you can actually tighten them up by hand then do the final bit with the torque wrench. There is no way on earth these would have come out if it hadn't been for this impact wrench. I've since used it to remove wheel nuts/studs and it's so quick and effortless it makes every job a doddle! Why the hell did I not buy one of these years ago! And for the bigger picture, I'm in my 50's with arthritis so find working on the cars a lot more difficult than most now, but with this impact wrench it's made my life so much easier. So, the Pros: -Undo's even the most stubborn bolts -Very robust construction, think it can take quite a bit of abuse and still last a long time -Bright colour, so easy to see where it is under the car. -LED lights are actually pretty decent on it, certainly better than having none! -Ease of use, very easy to use and the variable speeds are especially good when tightening any bolts as you can turn the setting down to 1 so it'll tighten them just enough, leaving the final tighten by torqu wrench. The Con's: -Weight, it isn't the lightest of tools but to be fair, I think that equates more to the quality of the build. -Vibration; There is a significant amount of vibration when undoing bolts that are really stuck, was quite surprised at the amount being transferred to my hands. But again to be fair, it it wasn't so violent at impacting, it wouldn't shift the bolts. All in all I totally highly recommend this impact Wrench/gun. It really is a must have tool and is a lot more capable than I thought it would be. Final Advice: Make sure you purchase and Impact WRENCH, not an Impact DRIVER. I wrongly purchased the Ryobi Impact Driver (which the guy in B & Q assured me would be up t the job!) but the driver is deffo not powerful enough to even undo wheel nuts, let alone stuck solid rusty bolts. I had to take that back to the shop which delayed getting the job done. So remember, IMPACT WRENCH!

From skeptical to a believer...
With a non-mechanical background, I didn't know exactly what i need from an impact wrench (especially a cordless ones!) - after a while of being skeptical and also reluctant to purchase one, I thought of - 'you wont know until you try'. So I decided to buy this Ryobi Impact wrench and after using it, THERE IS NO REGRET. So far, I have used it on the following: Wheels nuts - Come off loose in a second. 2 seconds at the most. Didn't use it on the locking nut for an obvious reason. Brake slider pins & bolts - My car slider pin and bolts are completely seized. this comes off without a problem. Brake Caliper Carrier bolts - This known to be quite tight one, but Ryobi 400nM (as advertised here) breakaway torque took it off in +/- 3 seconds. The jobs above are being done to a 13 years old car, in Scotland, so it is lots of seized and rust from the salty road. With that, everything come off without a glitch. Battery being used was a fully charged 5 amp 18v lithium battery. the indicator from battery level meter still says full after all of that. Very impressive, a 4 amp battery maybe the min. capacity you might want to use for a big job. A big test for this i reckon would be trying to take a (crankshaft) pulley bolt. If i am being fussy, I would say, the bright green colour won't last as grease will got on it and you will get weird green shades. I have bought the impact wrench (bare unit) when it was £94 inc. delivery...I say it was a bargain, especially if you already have battery and charger already! Not looking back and one of the best purchase I have done in Amazon. Last note, you can get an extension of 3 years warranty FOR FREE if registering the product in Ryobi-UK website.

Torque talk
I have used this once to change a set of alloys and it worked fine - and based on other Ryobi tools I have used, I am going to assume this will be reliable and will last reasonably. The issue with any tool like this is does it do what it claims. Initially, it failed to undo any bolts, but that was down to my stupidity. I used an extension and a converter to 3/8 - I think this introduced too many losses in the hammer action. With a socket fitted directly, this was able to loosen all the bolts I tried. As a test I tightened one bolt to 200 lb ft and this gun was able to spin it off almost immediately on setting 3. So I will give it is benefit and assume it could do a fair bit more. For the occasional use I have in mind, this will be fine.

Great tool, powerfull and good addition to my Ryobi collection
Needed to remove a camshaft bolt, and my Ryobi "Impact Driver" was not up to the job. So needed something more heavy duty. Brought this at 4pm on a Saturday, was delivered by 11am on the Sunday. Took the bolt off in less than a second! Fantastic tool.

The dogs nuts
I've used this on just about everything that wouldn't come loose with a spanner. Well built and very powerful 400nm/appx 300ftlb. Setting 3 will remove anything I throw at it and setting 1 tightened my wheel nuts to apps 100nm. It will also undo them at same torque setting on 1. Will spin off wheel nuts all day long and I especially appreciated its competency with rusted on bolts and nuts. It's less likely to round off bolt heads due to the impact action as well. I've removed a gearbox, part of the subframe, engine mountings, drive shafts, prop shaft, ball joints, anti roll bar, steering rack, wheels and exhaust on my 4x4 and it's 15 year old, many of the items have been on since new. Never complained, it just got stuck in. Powerful and if you've already got a one+ battery and charger, well worth the extra cash. Don't know why I've struggled with ratchets and spanners with long bars for so long. My fave tool in the garage by far.

Great, but not for everything.
I wanted to fit a tow bar to my ancient panel van. All the suspension bolts were rusted solid. I got this specifically to undo all these bolts as I had no joy with a small (ish) breaker bar and my normal socket set. This got 5 out of 6 bolts off without breaking a sweat. The 6 came half way out then lodged solid. My guess as a non mechanic is that this is fantastic for most jobs that a hobbiest will do, but it won't get absolutely everything... For wheel nuts etc that are removed more often than every few years this is just the job. For those really tough engine/suspension ones, you might get lucky.
