My Honest Murad Clarifying Cleanser Review
I first discovered this product as someone gave it to me in a gift set. I swear blind by this product, I have combination skin that leans a little more oily than dry. If you have dry skin this probably isn’t the product for you, if you decide to use it I’d say use it sparingly. This cleanser contains two different types of salicylic acid, which is why it’s so great for acne-prone people, if I have a breakout (white head) I put a bit of this on it - a spot treatment & it’ll reduce the spot in less than 6 hrs. The salicylic acid starts penetrating the skin as soon as it’s applied & it continues to work. The other active ingredient is green tea extract very soothing. I put a little bit larger than a pea-sized drop into my hand. Then, I lather it under some water and wash my face in circular motions. It is a gel like consistency, fragrance free which is important for sensitive skin. The price point is very high , there’s nothing like this product I wouldn’t go out my for a cheaper alternative, it does what it says. Like the say “if it’s not broke … don’t fix it” You don’t need a-lot of product, you could use it interchangeably if you’d like, I buy 2 bottles a year , jan to july & august to jan. I would recommend using this 2 times a day, remain consistent with what ever routine you have. I suffer from hyperpigmentation as a medium brown skin shade, the products I use are Murad vitamin c / murad clarifying cleanser Vitamin E cleanser Kojic acid (dark spots only every 3 days) Vitamin c serum Fenty skin toner Sunscreen Cerave cream Also ladies & gents make sure you dermaplane !!!! It helps

Bad experience
It is a very dangerous product. It causes a burning sensation on acne as soon as applied, but doesn’t stop there. After applying 3 times a day for 4 days, I noticed the pimple wasn’t getting any flat but the circumference of it kept increasing with it becoming further red and darker. After 4 days my pimples were looking like proper wound marks, something I have never experienced in my life before, very scary. The acne became much bigger and prominent. When I stopped applying it noticing the horrific damage it was causing to my skin, after a week the pimples got dried up but the redness/darkness didn’t go away, know it’s 3 months still I have 5 brown mark in my skin , I’m so nervous may they haven’t gone forever, I never had such a bad experience like this in my life , I thought this product is too effective for sensitive skin .

Great for oily skin but beware the menthol
This toner is a godsend to very oily skin. I follow it with either Murad Oil Control Mattifier or La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo, and it provides an excellent base for both. It doesn't prevent my skin from getting oily alone, but I have noticed a reduction in acne since I've started using it. The toner has the consistency of water and a slightly acetone smell. The bottle has a completely open top so you're best pressing a cotton pad over it then tipping. I've found that a little goes a long way and after two weeks of twice daily use the bottle is still two-thirds full. The only reason I have deducted a star is due to the inclusion of menthol. That tingly, sometimes burning or extremely cold feeling you get after using products containing menthol is not because your skin is now 'extremely clean' but because it's being irritated to hell by the menthol. It's bizarre that it's been included in a product which has been 'developed by dermatologists'.

Spot cream that does work when used properly.
I know that everyone has different skin, and I have tried many products over the years, but have found only this one to make an obvious and rapid difference. You only need a small amount on the spot itself, and it does dry it up really quickly, making it much smaller in no time; you could apply a larger amount to a bigger more stubborn spot, and it will work just as effectively; I have found that smudging the cream onto skin which is not affected, does dry the skin out, which suggests you must only applied to the affected area! what I particularly like about this treatment is that it dries on the skin as a completely clear layer; once I apply it, I allow plenty of time for it to be absorbed and dried, before applying a little moisturiser, and I have experienced no skin irritation whatsoever, speaking as someone who has sensitive skin at times. A bit pricey, but this really works for me, and I would definitely recommend this product, and I would purchase again!

Dangerous.. avoid at any cost
I bought this product after reading a lot of reviews on Amazon as well as on other blogs and websites. I’m not sure how good reviews ended up here at all. When I stopped applying it noticing the horrific damage it was causing to my skin, after a week the pimples got dried up but the redness/darkness didn’t go away. Later I could peel the skin off the acne and the acne mark and discolouration is still there. Avoid if you want to save your skin. I’m shocked if it’s ever been tested in lab at all. This can not be safe to use.

Brilliant Spot Zapper
This is my go to for killing spots. You don’t need much at all and the tube lasts for ages. It totally dries them out. Once they are going/gone you will need to moisturize as skin gets a little flaky but worth it to get rid of the spot quickly.

I love the toner. I'm 30 and it's getting harder to find a product which really works! It makes the skin matt and closes the pores. Perfect for oily skins.
