holy grail
i’ve always loved matcha and i’ve tried a few other brands before this one- although i can safely say this is easily the best matcha i’ve had for its price range. i’m a university student, so while i do love matcha i can’t justify spending £30-35 for the highest grade ones. the colour of it is beautiful, a lovely radiant green which is a good indicator of matcha quality. the previous brands i’ve used looked more yellow / murky and the taste isn’t bitter at all. the instructions state to use around 1/2 teaspoon (1g) per cup, but i ended up using around 1 teaspoon total since i prefer my matcha to be a bit stronger. it tastes lovely and smooth served over iced oat milk. i also love that the matcha comes in a tin, since you can buy refillable packets to prevent creating unnecessary waste

A great tasting Organic Matcha!
I love Matcha and purchased this one as I like to try different brands and found this Matcha to be really nice you can tell when you have a good matcha just from the colour alone. This item comes in a nice Tin and inside is a sealed tinfoil packet containing the matcha to keep it extra fresh. Taste - Delightfully earthy , Floral and invigorating , seaweed , umami. It is a mellow sweetness or a moreish savoury flavour. There are higher levels of theanine in shade grown tea - such as matcha - than in teas that are not grown in the shade. Theanine has calming and relaxing properties, while helping you to focus at the same time. No wonder the Japanese have been reaching for a cup of matcha for centuries. I Also recommend when using matcha properly to buy a matcha spoon (so you don't use a lot of matcha,as it can be expensive) and a Japanese whisk. How to PrePare : add 1-2 matcha spoon full to a cup or small bowl add in just below boiling point Water then whisky until a froth forms on the top. ( sit back and enjoy) also they say One glass of matcha green tea is equal to the amount of nutrition found in 10 cups of regular green tea. Great health benefits. Tasty. Great for price
This matcha is great for its price. The taste difference in comparison to pure chimp which I was using before is very noticeable. Colour is a vibrant green and comes with the tin for best storage (storing matcha in a glass container allows it to oxidise and go yellowish!!) the tin is great. Only negative is if you are intending to buy this to have just with water- don’t. It has a bit of a bitter/ soapy taste. However if you are planning to have it as a matcha latte, it is great. I had mine iced with oat milk and white chocolate syrup and it was perfect

Pleasantly Surprised!
After seeing this on Amazons deal of the day for less than £6 I decided to give it a go and WOW! Ive tried a lot of different brands over the years so you could say I know my matcha pretty well but I was pleasantly surprised and so pleased I did. Due to the price being pretty low for an Organic Ceremonial Grade matcha (from Japan, NOT! China) I was very sceptical. My sweet spot is usually around £12-£15 for 30g which is why I have been drinking Clearsprings Organic Ceremonial Grade matcha for around 2 years now. Its always been good quality tea without the eye watering price tag of some of the others which are no better. So I would advise any matcha lovers to give it a try and you might also have found your new tea brand for half the price that you usually pay. I have uploaded a pic of a quality comparison between this and my usual brand. As you can see its a very vibrant green as it should be. However the Clearsprings is over a month old but looked very simular in colour when first opened. Both are very good quality. Both are from Japan. Both teas have the same taste and both mix well using a whisk. All good!

Really good Matcha and very competitive price
I was introduced to Matcha tea through Bird and Blend tea. I couldn't understand why the tea doesn't froth very well even though I also bought the bamboo whisk. I was fed up waiting for my tea to arrive through the post so bought this ceremonial tea on Amazon. It froths beautifully. You do have to whisk it firmly and for a minute so all of the lumps dissolve but I find it quite therapeutic! I have mine with frothed almond milk and a dash of sugar free vanilla syrup. It is really lovely. I'm so happy with this tea and I went back to the Bird and Blend website and realised their flavoured matcha is not ceremonial grade. They sell a pure version which is. That's why it wasn't frothing as well as this. This is a great tea don't hesitate to buy.

Kind of fishy, but maybe I got a bad batch
I’ve used this tea a few times now and I’m not a fan. I bought this one along with a different brand so I could compare the two, see if there were any differences etc, and this one is my least favourite flavour wise. I’m not sure if I just got unlucky or something but this particular tea has an almost fishy flavour and the smell reminds me of cod liver oil, neither of which the tea is meant to be like, or so I’ve read. That’s why it only got 3 stars. The other tea brand tastes much better (more grassy with no hint of fish) and doesn’t leave a bitter aftertaste, which is what I got from this one. It does blend pretty well (I use a matcha whisk). Even when I was lazy and didn’t whisk as long as I maybe should have, it got a pretty good foam and had only a slight powdery base. When I whisked for a bit longer it got a brilliant foam and was really smooth. Like I say, this has got several good reviews so maybe I was just unlucky and got a bad tin. For the price, it was an okay first batch of matcha tea to try. I am glad I went for a more expensive one as well though as I could not drink any more of this particular one.

Good quality matcha I need to buy a refill
Pinky finger and ring finger is matcha I bought from the asian supermarket for the same price and I’ve always noticed it was very bitter and didn’t give me much energy. Whereas this matcha that is on my index and middle finger is more vibrant (that is a good indicator to test if it is good quality) tastes a lot better, that you don’t need that much sugar or honey. It has kind of has a nutty aroma.

Perfect drink to wake me up in the morning
First time drinker of matcha tea powder and I'm glad I switched from the bagged variety. You can really taste the difference! It comes in a small twist seal pot which is handy if you plan on taking it with you when travelling. Preparing it did take a few tries - as others have mentioned it's recommended to invest in a whisk. Using a spoon you'll find lumps which settle at the bottom plus it has a stronger taste. I ended up buying a cheap handheld electric milk frother and it has made a whole world of difference. No more lumps, easy to mix and the tea comes up lighter and tastier. Highly recommended and will try their Premium Grade next time I order :)
