1 box of 3 small ice packs. No you dont split them they are separated already.

Q: can these be separated, or do they have to stay joined as pairs?

They can be, but you have to be carful. They don't just rip and it's real easy to puncture the seal when separating them

Q: How big is each pack in cm?

I would say about 10x10cm roughly

Q: Can they also be used for heating? What would happen when heated a few seconds in the microwave?

I don't think so the packs look like they are foil wrapped so I wouldn't think it's suitable for a microwave. However, don't know how they'd perform after being submerged in a pan of hot water!!
