Tuffy Security Drawer - 2011+ Ford Explorer

I purchased the safe/locker since it was specifically made for my 2018 Explorer and other Explorers years before and after mine. They claimed that wiring did not need removing or moving to install it. Well the electric seat wiring harness that is positioned in the middle of the bottom of the drivers seat had to be removed and repositioned. There is no way of installing the safe/locker without doing that ... otherwise if you moved the seat in any direction it would rip out the wires catching on the safe/locker. That’s why I gave it a four star rating. Other than that it’s well made and needs a rubber non slip liner for inside the safe.

Good product and install was quite simple. Just follow the instructions. Only reason for 4 out of 5 stars is the product should be delivered with a foam drawer insert that can be cut to the outline of whatever the buyer desires to lock up. Otherwise the items within just slide around as the vehicle moves. Minor issue really since I ordered to lock up my EDC when I can't carry on me. However, I sometimes have to drive with my EDC locked up. Found a piece of foam at work that I repurposed. Otherwise I was faced with ordering the proper size foam to pad the inside and not damage my EDC.

Overall a great lock box for the the ford explorer. It took 10 - 15 min to assemble due to the small allen head screws (a poor choice in my mind). The install took about an hour. The box fits nicely in the space with the down side being that you will have to relocate the seat plug in (See photo #4). This plug is all of the power for the power seat and your airbags! So it is needed. But once that was taken care of, it fits surprisingly well. Now for my issues with the box design. The box itself can hold a lot but if you think that a holster is gonna fit think again. I'm running a Glock 26 gen 5 and a holster from my local firearm shop and the holster, an iwb holster, DOESN'T FIT!!! (See photo #2) So from a 4.5 star review to a 3 star review. Also I have added a thin and very compressible foam to the bottom and even without this the holster doesn't fit.

I purchased this for my Ford Flex. The bolt spacing for bracket is 16 inches and the overall height allows precise fit with no installation problems. This fits under the rigid frame and does not interfere with power seat operation.There is no liner and did not expect one as does not state being any. This is my second Tuffy brand lock box and still use the first one. Solid products

Not "tall" enough. Cannot keep weapon in holster and place it into the drawer. Not enough clearance. Dumb.Very painful to install. I wonder why they don't have it come preassembled as much as possible. It's dumb. Also. It's very hard to open the drawer. Super tough. Sometimes you think it's locked and it's not!
