Clothes line post
had to bury much deeper than the directions indicated. This post must be put in cement for it to work properly.

Nice and sturdy, works great
This is great. I haven't had it long enough to see how it will hold up, but it seems really sturdy. There are two minor things that detract from a perfect score, and both are manageable. The mounting brackets are plastic, albeit thick plastic - but I wonder how they'll hold up over time with UV exposure and the weight pulling on them. The second thing is the lines don't always retract evenly. When it returns to it's storage position, some lines are still loose while others are tight. You kind of have to pull it out and let it retract again to get it straight. Remember to hang onto the handle when retracting because it snaps back fast.

Works great with the Whitmor 5 line retractable clothesline!
The media could not be loaded. I dug the hole a bit two deep and wide as well, which was okay. I used 3 bags of Quikset fast drying cement which was great because I could use the line the next day. I had my own thoughts as to how to attach the Whitmor 5 line retractable clothesline which works very well. The line will lower due the the weight of items you place on the line. The line is a gray plastic line.

Very sturdy
My 5 line retractable clothes line when pulled out got anchored to a tree as the pole. We had the tree cut down so I needed and actual pole to support the clothes line. It is beyond my expectations. My husband cemented in the base because we have thick shale and very little soil. The pole is very easy to put together and is super sturdy. It's a great product

It works but with a couple flaws
So I live in Jamaica and we are accustomed to having a traditional backyard clothesline with posts at both ends. We decided to buy a retractable clothesline because we entertain a lot in our back yard and each time we would have to take down the lines (a bugger task for my son and husband) and the posts would still be left standing (not so good for my guests). Our fence would not have been high enough for the receiving bracket of the clothesline so we had to buy the post too. The first time we installed it, it collapsed albeit with a full load of clothes on line!. No fault of the manufacturer as my son did not follow the instructions properly. Having learned from the mistake we installed it again. We also realized that it had to be installed near a wall or fence as it would not remain standing without some form of brace. We have actually bought a bracket to brace the lower pole against the fence to keep it firmly in place. It works well with the Household Essentials 5-Line Retractable Clothesline. Right now my only problem is that the poles do not snap into place (not sure if its suppose to) but this causes the 'T' to start turning in the opposite direction when hanging clothes. So I have to keep it balanced by hanging the clothes from the inside lines and work my way to the outer lines. If anybody else have this problem and was able to solve it would appreciate knowing how.
