Needs much Improvement
All the feeding ports on this unit were so lose I had to use a special glue to keep them from falling out. Had they been secure I would have probably given this a 5 rating because since I fixed the problem there is very little wasted feed when using this.

No more waste!
I was wasting so much food with other feeders. I have very little waste with this feeder. Actually ordered a second one.

Works great for baby chicks
I wanted a system for feeding my 18 new baby chicks that prevented bedding from contaminating the feed and also minimized waste. I use a portal unit for my grown chickens (of my own make) that works very well and this looked similar. This unit does keep the majority of bedding from getting into the feed and minimizes the waste...but because the top is flat they chicks love to roost on it and I have to clean poop off multiple times daily. The heat plate I use has a "cone" topper which keeps the chicks off, the same thing would be great for this feeder.

DO NOT BUY-VERY DANGEROUS
Baby birds are able to crawl into this feeder through the pipes. Once in they cannot get out. 3 baby quail were trapped in my feeder tonight. It's over 100 degrees and they are lucky I was filling it tonight. They would have been dead by morning. This product should be recalled immediately.
