Q: Why are there negative reviews about the heart rate and gps not being useless?

I have no issue with the heart rate or GPS on Sense 2. As a matter of fact, the heart rate has always agreed with the numbers at the Doctors office. My biggest dislike is it's lack of ability to measure and grade my sleep patterns. I get up at least once at night and, if it is after midnight, it will end my night and give a poor score even when I have gone back to sleep and gotten 4 + more hours. I suspect they are trying to force the owners of this watch into their premium program which would run the cost of owning this watch way up. I will give APPLE more consideration in the future because I charge the watch every day anyway.

Q: can you make calls from fitbit sense 2 ?

Yes Fitbit Sense 2 can make and accept phones and text messages. On the app on your phone, click on your profile, then click on Sense 2 followed by clicking on Notifications. It's there you turn on Calls, Text Messages, etc. I also have Alexa linked to my phone. Hope al this helps.
