Great quality - still looks new a year on......
Bought this when I was renovating my kitchen. Great quality, stylish and practical. It's been in place for about a year now and has withstood ALL weathers, including 85mph winds during a winter storm (West coast of Wales). The only down side to this vent is that the flap under the cover bangs if the wind is in a certain direction, but overall, very happy with it.

Excellent value and works well
Bought to fit on an outside wooden workshop wall to dispose of paint fumes from a spray booth in the shop. Fits well at 4inch. Has a rubber gasket to provide a weather seal. Been working well over last week or two. Flaps open and close /seal well keeping weather and insects etc out. Stylish polished metal finish. Well happy so farIan

Looks nice, but can be noisy
The media could not be loaded. As others have said, thin metal, but strong enoughThe flaps are lightweight but not flimsy. Though if you did bend one you'd probably struggle to sort it out as it has a nice clean flat look when closed. Also, the rubber gasket is tricky to get to stay on. I used some dabs of superglue in the corners to hold it in place.Once fitted, I found that my kitchen extractor would cause the flaps to oscillate as seen in the video. This gives an annoying tink tink tink sound while the fan is on.Selecting a different speed on the fan seemed to eliminate the resonance.Might need to experiment with adding some weights of maybe bits of rubber to dampen the noise when the flaps close.Yet to see how it behaves on a windy day. Will not buy another until I see if I can resolve the noise issue

High quality product
I have fitted a number of these vent covers as they are of high build quality, stylish and functional. Very easy to fit and, despite reviews to the contrary, the 'rubber' seal does stay on sufficiently long enough to fit to the wall. Steel thickness may appear thin 'in the hand' but is certainly sufficient foe the job and, once fitted, is robust and sturdy. I will buy again and recommend this without hesitation.

Well made
I bought this product to replace a plastic version that had gone brittle with the sunlight. Thought, "brilliant, won't need replacing". However, the flaps are much heavier than any plastic version and there wasn't enough power with my good quality bathroom extractor fan to open the bottom flap more than 3mm!So couldn't use as there wasn't an efficient throughput of air.

The rubber seal is stretched over the metal, tape it placed before you install, it keeps coming off
(Read below about the seal)It is made of thin pressed spot welded metal and the flap (on mine) was slightly out of alignment, so it wouldn’t have sealed. I bent it so it did and the spot welded hinge stayed attached. The seal is gravity closed, but it’s quite light so it does (nearly silently) flap in the wind, I solved this by glueing two tiny neodymium magnets, one on the bottom of the flap (outside) and one inside (so it lines up).THE RUBBER SEAL: There is a channelled rubber seal which is slightly too small for the metal, this is meant to stretch on and stay there, it doesn’t. I placed it on several times, even holding it in place when I placed it against the wall, it still came off one corner, by this time, the internal clips had gripped the panel so I couldn’t easily remove the whole thing. It took me about 30 minutes trying to tease, (while up a ladder) the seal so it was in the right place. Do yourself a favour and tape it on at the corners.Summary- it’s working well and looks good, if you need a good seal, then add some tiny magnets. But definitely tape the ANNOYING seal or use sealant.Would I buy another, if needed, probably.
