This BABOR SOS Calming Ampoule Serum Concentrate is packed with soothing ingredients and feels so amazing and gets rid of any redness when my dry, sensitive skin is having issues. For example, I wore sunscreen but went to an outside wedding on an unusually hot summer day with no shade, and I had no way to reapply my sunscreen applied many hours earlier. I didn’t get fried, but my skin is so pale that I got noticeable sun and my face was red and uncomfortable. I’d say describe my skin as having just a mild sunburn (nothing horrible), but my sensitive skin gets so uncomfortable and red if I accidentally get too much sun. After I washed my face that evening, I applied a whole ampoule (generous amount) to my face and used what was left on my chest. This serum felt so incredibly soothing, and the red went away shortly after use. This serum is pleasing too as it’s non sticky, hydrating and absorbs well. I also used an ampoule after using an AHA product on my face that felt too strong and made my skin red and irritated and again it calmed right down and the red away quickly. This serum feels like first aid for my dry, sensitive skin. Aloe vera is the main ingredient, which makes sense as fresh aloe has been a “go to” for me when I get too much sun and irritation. Plus, this has amazing ingredients that soothe the skin such as ALBATRELLUS CONFLUENS EXTRACT, ASIATICOSIDE, MADECASSIC ACID and panthenol (which hydrates too). I love this product, but have a note about the glass ampoules. They do look high end and keep the product fresh. But they need to be used with care. I used another type of Babor ampoule serum and a fleck of glass ended up on my finger after breaking the top off the ampoule. I saw it so I had ultimately had no issue, but I do feel the need to be careful to check for flecks of glass and and stay away from my eye area. But, that potential issue aside, I totally love this serum. 5 stars. Made in Germany.
