Brilliant head unit. Makes an older car like new with built in android auto.
It's been a few months now since I installed this head unit, I've tried to wait a bit so I can fully review it not just comment on the install. But first the install. It is relatively straight forward, at least in my opinion. I installed this to a Hyundai i10, so I did have to buy some adaptors and fascia replacements seeing as this car doesn't use a standard double DIN head unit. But even with this the head unit itself is pretty straight forward. It's just plug in all the different cables and route a couple of things like the microphone up through the A pillars (be careful, my car doesn't have air bags here so it was fine for me to do this, you may have to plan different cable routing) and under the ceiling felt. Now I won't go on too much about the install, as I guess it varies from car to car but as I say from my experience it was relatively simple... All the issues I had came down to my car not the head unit. This is from the point of view of someone who hasn't worked in cars before but is happy to do a bit of wiring with things like computers. My one complaint is that the USB cable that comes out the back of it is quite short. Which might suit some people but did make it more difficult for me to run it exactly where I wanted. I was still able to route it down into the passenger foot well though which has turned out fine because I'm entirely using it wirelessly anyway. So as for the connectivity, I went for this because it supports wired or wireless android auto. I initially thought I'd have to use wired, because as a new driver I have a black box, so my phone always needs to be connected to this. It's turned out fine though and I'm able to be connected to this and the head unit at the same time. So that's great. Now in terms of features, I only really use 2 things. Android auto and the reverse camera. Android auto pretty much handles everything for me, maps, music and any messages/calls I get (which by the way is a great feature as it will give you the option to read your message to you and then you can speak your reply). Then I wired up the reversing camera with the trigger wire so as soon as I shift the car into reverse the camera automatically comes up. One thing I have noticed is when you go into reverse if you have music playing it does lower the volume until you come back out of reverse. Although I'm guessing this is a safety feature? Another thing worth mentioning is the buttons. This is another reason I went for this head unit, because I wanted physical buttons for things like volume. These work great and are much easier than trying to press something on a screen like some other options. Although the touch screen on this unit is still great and works well. The only thing I have noticed is I have had 2 times now when the head unit has randomly turned off when driving. Although it then turns back on after a couple of seconds. Now I'm not going to mark the unit down for this, because I do now know the reason. It might be to do with the unit itself or it could be my wiring or even the car. Either way something to mention. One of the times though was quite a hot day so I'm not sure if it might have just overheated or something? But I am not sure. So overall, the head unit looks great. Functions great. And just overall is great. Definitely something I'd consider buying again if I got another car without Android Auto. Highly recommend.

Very good unit for a great price
I put one of these in my Toyota Yaris 2011 Mk2 and it works without issue. Installation is fairly simple, once you have the bracket as that comes with the exact cable/adaptor you need. I replaced the original Yaris stereo with it. CarPlay is ok, wouldn’t say the best as it does lag but it’s not really an issue given the price. The screen is very responsive, and isn’t a resistive touchscreen like the older Nintendo DS screens. It’s the same type of touchscreen as your iPhone or Android. Sound quality bangs, I have no complaints. The fit is perfect, literally no complaints. It’s a cheap way of getting integrated CarPlay without having to rely on Bluetooth transmitters or those CarPlay screens that use suction cups and the rely on a Bluetooth transmitter or AUX for audio to your car speakers. This one works great. The time for it to connect to CarPlay is very fast too, and is automatic. Once you connect it initially, you’ll be able to leave your phone in your pocket and start the car and drive off without touching the phone once as it just connects and starts up CarPlay/Android Auto automatically. You can even change the logo of the boot logo to your cars brand, so it feels like it came with the car and was never replaced. It modernises the Yaris MK2, Waze on CarPlay/Android Auto is a godsend. This is genuinely perfect, especially for those who have a Yaris as their first car as they don’t have to shell out for those awful plastic phone holders. Highly recommend if you can find for a bargain

Good value
Got this for the van to get wireless Apple Carplay. The stereo was easy to fit, it’s easy to use and fast. Found that connecting phone via WiFi to the stereo rather than bluetooth is faster and more stable - on Bluetooth it would often crash when using Apple music, maps and then I got a phone call - not sure if it was my phone or the stereo but as I have a 14 Pro, I assume it’s the stereo. No crashing since using WiFi though. Sound is good - it’s in a van with standard speakers so nothing exciting. It connects on it’s own first time every time I turn the van on. Siri works well. Still using the built in mic as I’ve been lazy but it works very well. One annoying thing is the headlight trigger. Every stereo I have ever fitted uses a 12v trigger to turn on night mode. This however is inverted, so needs a 12v trigger to say it’s daytime, then when the 12v goes, it’s night mode. Most cars I’ve seen put out 12v when turning the lights on. So this stereo was always in night mode with my lights off, then when I turn my lights on, it’s in day mode - very annoying and they could have put an option in the settings to fix this. Apart from that, it’s been good value for money. I do wish it came with a cage for fitting too, that’s annoying. Screen is bright and responsive, menus are fast and apple car play works very well!

Excellent Value – Easy Install, Flawless Wireless CarPlay, and Great Support!
I installed the ATOTO F7 WE 7" Double DIN Car Stereo in my daughter’s car, and I’m extremely happy with the results. Installation was straightforward with clear instructions — everything went smoothly without any complications. The wireless CarPlay feature is fantastic. It connects quickly and works flawlessly every time, with no lag or connection issues. The user interface is responsive and intuitive, making it a great upgrade from the factory system. I also installed the ATOTO AC-HD02LR 720P Rearview Camera alongside the stereo, and it was just as easy to set up. The image quality is excellent, and the integration with the stereo is seamless. Overall, I’m very impressed with ATOTO. The quality of their products exceeded my expectations, and their customer service has been top-notch. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a reliable and affordable stereo upgrade.

Stopped working
It worked great for a day, then it started occasionally freezing, and now it won't connect to android auto at all. I bought it for my van, funny enough my phone connects to my other car without problems useless

After looking into higher priced head units, I saw this and decided to give it a try. The wiring part was simple in my nissan xtrail and once turned on, it connected quickly to my Android phone. It looks fantastic, and the music sounds great. It has a simple interface with a solid touch screen capability. I have had a couple of connection blips while listening to music but overall, this $180 cad unit works great. Will update if anything occurs. But as of now, I recommend. You will have to have a little wiring knowledge to install, but it's not hard. Ok. I have been using this for a while now and wow! What a great unit! I highly recommend this radio. Except for the odd blip I get during music, it sounds great, looks great, works great, and the gps is spot on. If you are on the fence, jump off on this side, it's great for a great price.

A niente!
