Excellent Value!
This jug is exactly what I've always needed! It holds a full US gallon of water plus ice, so I have access to ice-cold water all day at work, even when weather conditions make everything else around me scorching hot. Whenever I refill my travel cup from this jug, my water is freezing cold and as wonderfully refreshing as if I just got it out of the refrigerator. The jug itself is a little heavy compared to a regular cup, but it's high-quality stainless steel, so that's expected. It's very well constructed and can take a beating without losing functionality.I've read a few reviews that say it leaks, but that's not the case at all! Both the fill lid and pour cap screw on tightly. The only way this jug could leak is if you failed to close it properly.Since the jug is so big and heavy (it's metal and holds a GALLON), it's a bit awkward for me to carry for any extended distance. I purchased the carry bag separately (on Amazon), and that frees up my hands for other things when I haul my work stuff out to my truck. I don't think it would be practical for me to carry on a hike or other extended excursion though, unless I put it into a backpack or something that would balance the weight evenly. I'm not used to carrying that much weight in one hand or over one shoulder.Overall, I think this jug is an excellent value. It performs exactly as advertised and makes my life easier.

Pretty nice bottle for the price
I try to drink a lot of water throughout the day. I usually carry an uninsulated 64 oz. Kleen Kanteen with me to work every day and have no trouble emptying it. This wasn't enough, however, and I would get thirsty by the end of the day. I decided that I needed to drink a full gallon every day to ward off thirst and to account what I lose during exercise, etc. This jug was my solution. I waited until Prime Days and then searched for a gallon water jug. I tried to strike a balance between low price and good reviews. This jug was the most economical option that had consistently high reviews, and a lot of them mentioned how durable it was. OK, I'm sold.A lot of reviews mentioned the size. Yep, it's huge, and full of water it weighs about 12 lbs. according to another reviewer that actually weighed it. It takes both hands to drink out of this thing. For me, the size is the only thing that I'm on the fence about. I'm still trying to decide if carrying a full gallon is a better option than refilling my 2-quart Kleen Kanteen at work. It's certainly no fault of the jug-- a gallon-sized container is going to be bigger than a 2-quart container no matter what-- but it is a consideration if you have to lug this thing around. I certainly feel the weight and, while it's not a deal breaker for me, it's certainly something to consider.I'm trying to avoid abusing it, so far durability seems good. I toss it into my large rucksack with a Stanley steel lunchbox, and so far the powdercoated finish has zero scratches on it. I was leery of the handle being screwed into the plastic cap, but the whole thing feels very sturdy. I don't swing it like a kettlebell or anything, but the plastic cap seems to have no trouble standing up to the weight of this thing, which was my main concern. The cap seals tight. The jug is so large that I have to lay it sideways in my rucksack. Not a drop has leaked so far despite being jostled on its side while I ride my motorcycle, walk up and down stairs, etc.I haven't tried it with warm liquids, but it keeps water cool all day. I fill it with tap water in the morning and it stays about the same temperature. When summer comes, I'll fill it with ice water and see, but from other reviews I expect that the insulation will work just fine. One other thing: I fill mine in the sink because it doesn't fit in my refrigerator's water dispenser. That means I fill it with regular tap water instead of my fridge's cold, filtered water. The tap water in my area is pretty good (water quality reports from the local water company shows almost no detectable contaminants and the taste is fine) so I don't mind. However, if you want to fill yours with filtered water, you're either going to be standing at your fridge forever waiting for this thing to fill up, or you're going to want to invest in an auxiliary filter for your sink.I paid less than $35 for this jug when I bought it, and at that price the value is excellent. As of January 2025, it's hovering around the $40 mark, which is still a good price for a gallon jug of this quality. So far I'm very happy with mine. If there's anything to report in the future, I'll update this review.

A Life Saver!
These are amazing! I work on outdoor crews in Phoenix in the summer heat and even when it is 117 degrees outside the ice water in these lasts all day. Everyone I work with eventually bought one and I truly believe it has saved lives. Like all hinge-cap dispensers, you have to wash the inside of the cap very well or it starts to smell a little funky. I use and old toothbrush to clean mine.
