Burger Motorsports Specialty Spark Plug Socket Tool for 2006+ Turbo BMW Engines

Used this for my Mini Clubman, Chassis: R55, Engine: N16. (L4 1.6L N16B16A). Worked like a charm and the price is way, way lower than what the dealer charges for the same tool (no surprise there considering Mini's extortionate prices for just about everything). Much prefer this tool's magnet style over the type with rubber gasket. Very easy to withdraw spark plug and when installing easily removes from plug after tightening as opposed to getting stuck on the plug as often happens with the rubber gasket types. A must for any DIY Mini person.

Bought this to do plugs on my 2016 Mazda 3 2.0. I wasn't happy about how much it cost when I ordered it. I'm completely satisfied with that after having used it. The magnet is the perfect strength, the socket is very compact, and the finish on the socket is very nice. It worked perfectly for me and I'm happy to add it to the collection, even for the lofty price tag.

I opted for the more expensive socket from Burger and it worked great. Plugs came out of my 335i with no problem. The magnet in the socket is strong and held the plugs easily. There is always a price to pay with cheap tools so I’d say this socket is worth the money not to have any headaches changing out our plugs on your BMW.

Worked perfectly! This will get scratched once you remove the spark plugs with it. If you own a BMW and you plan on doing work yourself just invest in this. It will save you time, money, and the headaches. You won’t find the thin wall socket you need in the stores and if you do, it will not budge a single spark plug.

Great product

Absolute must have if you plan to change your own spark plugs, even once. This tool makes the job easy. Strong magnetic hold and fits the OEM spark plugs perfectly. Make sure you have a few different 3/8" extensions as cylinders 5/6 can get tricky as far as tool clearance goes.

2023 update: Ordered this way back in 2015, and after 8 years of hard use as a professional technician for BMW, this socket is still running with nothing more than a little cosmetic wear on the outside. Pretty much all BMW engines run this size spark plug, so it is used almost daily. Still highly recommend, regardless if you are doing your own plugs at home or working as a pro! The tool is awesome. If you have a modern turbocharged BMW (N54, N55, S55, N63/T/R, S63/T/R, N20/26, B38, B48, B58, possibly B46) this will fit. I use it on a professional level, and it is holding up strong after a year of use. I ended up using it the day I got it (pictured on M6/S63T). If you DIY this stuff yourself, you will enjoy this tool. If you do this stuff for a living, you will LOVE this tool. No more suffering over the worn out insert in the Snap-On equivalent socket (at three times the price), or bent fingers on the Hazet version (at five times the price). Buy this tool!
