Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2004 - PC

If you are looking for the overall best PGA Tour game, this is it. If you want something pretty to show off your 70 inch television and dont actually care about playing golf, go with the latest console version.2004 lets you play in a wide variety of modes like tournaments, competitions, custom games, practice on any course at any place, random challenges, and you can even set up your own custom seasons. You can practice a great deal of stroke types and then add them to your select-able tools in a match. There are about 3 times as many available courses as the 2003 version, and the ability to go back and play old tournaments any time is a nice addition. Strangely, later versions of PGA Tour had strict calendar play and you could not go backwards. I dont know why they would make the game worse.Player customization is basic and the graphics were not top-notch even when the game first came out. But its excellent golf action and probably the best version ever put on Windows.Highly recommended if you prefer playing games to watching them.

Really, have you seen the gallery used in this game? They look like a bunch of clones. I had to turn the gallery off, it just gets sickening after awhile.

In the review I read before I purchased it, it said that it would work with Windows 10. But when I received it and loaded it, it did not. A person was kind enough to leave a note on the box and with email address. I contacted them and they informed me that it will not work with Windows 10.

I searched long and hard for the best golf game and this is it! It's version 2004, but don't let that dissuade you. . . Games developed by the maker EA Sports have gone downhill after that year's version. The latest version 2012 requires you to register online before you can play a single course yourself! Then you have a small but irritating monthly fee to pay!I have Windows 7 Professional, and the graphics are absolutely stunning. The circular swing meter is replaced with a more natural vertical up and down movement of your mouse. Seems odd at first, but then you get it and it's very controllable for fades or draws at will.The building of your "avatar" is very detailed ... you can spend a couple hours just on that! But once you're in the game, it's really spectacular. If you load all the courses from the discs, you have 18 of them.The only downside to this game is the requirement that you always start the game with the first disc in your drive (There are 3 discs). This is really annoying, but can be fixed with a downloadable NO CD "Crack" which replaces the starting file and removes the CD present requirement. There's a couple game sites that have it, but you have to look for it. I was a little hesitant to download it and try it, but I decided to take a chance (I'm a type "A" person) and it worked beautifully. So now it starts up just fine without having to put disc 1 in any drive.If you love golf, you'll love this game. I sometimes sit down to just play a few holes and end up playing a whole course!I researched MANY golf games of all years past and present, and this got the highest reviews. As I said, in later versions EA Sports reduced the graphics display quality and made it much more difficult to just sit down and play what you want.I got it from a private seller in California. Super price, super service, and I even got a follow-up email from the seller asking how I liked it and was there anything else they could do? Now THAT's service!One of THE VERY best games I've ever purchased. . . and I don't purchase many at all. I'm very selective and particular with what I buy. I like golf and flight simulators. Get it, if there are any left. You won't regret it.

This game also is supposed to have 3d vision support according to NVidia Control Panel and it plainly doesn't. That's the reason I bought it and ended up uninstalling and putting it away. Don't buy it if you are looking for 3d compatibility. For whatever little time I played it in 2d it looked pretty decent and could be enjoyed if you are into golf. Very relaxing.

This review is a bit past due, as there are certainly better games out there now. But for the time, this game was well made and had some great gameplay.

It was not compatible with my windows. Nice person , but he would not exchange game for a different one. Sorry :)

For the year it came out it's fantastic, and even in the year now (2021), its graphics hold up. At least, it's not so low quality that I'm aware of it by comparison to modern games. & the playability is brilliant. Very easy to learn, great game flow, and since it's an earlier, simpler game it's not loaded down with bells & whistles, or complex menus & command strokes. Yet there are many variations & courses for many hours of play. Highly recommend
