Yana Goes to Kenya

This book is so well-written and pleasing to the eye. The moment you open it you feel like you are transported to Kenya. The author gave you a very accurate and fun understanding of what visiting Kenya would be like. I look forward to seeing what other adventures Yana and Her brother go on. A must read for all ages who want to know about other places in the world. I love that we learned Swahili in it and the glossary in the back is the perfect touch. Exceptional living book worth all the praise.

My son and I enjoyed reading Yana Goes to Kenya. For someone who was born and raised in Kenya this book brought back so many good memories. I mostly like how the story flows from start of the trip connecting the reader with actual events most kids and adults visiting Kenya get to enjoy. I like how the illustrations bring characters live creating a calm and beautiful setting. As a reader this helped visualize the people, places they visited and the events in the story.Hopefully there will be Yana Goes to Kenya series!

We purchased several copies to read to our grandchildren. Ours being a German / American family, travel to other countries and learning another language have been a normal part of our lives. We want our grandchildren to do the same as they mature. We know the author and share her excitement with her first such publication. She has chosen an outstanding illustrator, too. We sent additional copies to a friend who runs homes for abandoned girls in Kenya and Rwanda. Congratulations to Kerubo Wall and Janice Angengo.

My kids were literally wowed by the illustrations in this book! We just returned from our trip to Kenya and they can relate to most of the contents in the book! We didn't get to do some of the fun activities written in the book but thanks to "Yana goes to Kenya", we now have a list of must-dos in our the next trip to Kenya!Well done Kerubo and Janice

My husband and I were living in Tanzania when we first started dating and would frequently cross the border into Kenya. So many of the places in this book are familiar to us and make us feel homesick in the best way possible. We absolutely love it. Our children absolutely love it. It's such a sweet introduction to the beauty of Kenya and Kenyan culture.

This book highlights the food, culture, lifestyle, family bonds, sports, dance, music, and our favorite part the animals of Kenya. Truly felt like an experience I had in real life with my kids. We have been reading our copy every night since my kids love seeing the really vibrant pictures. This children’s book will get lots of use in our house. Hopefully the author makes a few more !

"Yana Goes to Kenya", is a must have for all people who have ties to Kenya and want to share their experience of this beautiful country with the children in their life! For me personally, this book brought back nostalgic memories from my childhood in Kenya, the way no other book has. Asante Kerubo for creating this delightful children's book!

My daughters loved this book. My oldest kept saying how many interesting things there was to do in Kenya. My youngest liked the coconut part. We thoroughly enjoyed it and found many things we are excited to learn more about. Now my daughters want to go to Kenya. Thank you to the author for this wonderful book.
