Q: How is the train when not using the tracks, can the child ride as a ride on?

Yes the child can ride on his own. My grandchild rode it throughout the house on our wooden floors and it worked very well.

Q: What is the difference between 6vlt and power wheels?

It has a 6 vlt chargeable battery. Battery is under seat but can he accessed with screwdriver. Child proof. The wheels are what drives the train on or off the track.

Q: Does it come with battery charger?

Yes. It also charges pretty quick
