I bought this Wake 31.8 mm bike stem to upgrade my mountain bike, and it turned out even better than I expected. It feels sturdy, well-built, and surprisingly light. Installing it was simple, and it fit right away without needing any adjustments. After using it on a few rides, I noticed the steering feels more responsive and the bike handles much better. Great product for the price. Provides much more comfort from the longer stock Trek head clamp. Color works good too, about as close to the photo as can be. I regretted not getting the gold, but thats on me. One thing people should be aware of: You'll likely need an additional headset spacer to make this work. The stem clamp is shorter than most stock, and an extra spacer is needed to fill the gap and pull the headset bearings tight.

There are chips in the finish. The are NOT hidden when installed. Did I get a used part? Face it, it's a budget part. It is made well enough. The color ... I gambled and lost. I wanted blue It is more aqua. I'll stick to black next time. I replaced my factory 35mm carbon bars with after market aluminum bars. I couldn't find 35mm, clamping area, bars with the rise I wanted, so this 31.8 mm clamping part. I do feel a bit bad putting this on my super expensive week old MTB, but deep down I'm cheap. A part that weighs 10+ grams less won't help me ride any better.

Its what you pay for and it looks so nice... the quality is amazing aswell I would say if you are an XC racer look for a lighter one.

Product arrived in a timely manner but has a small scuff in front. Other than that it seems like a good quality product.
