As you'll notice in my photo, I purchased this toilet seat over 10 years ago. One of the main selling points being I'd never have to tighten my toilet seat again. Sitting down on a seat moving side to side is sooo not comfortable, at times, frustrating if it's so loose it feels it's going to fall off while you're on it. I have a few loved ones that tip the scales at roughly between 300 and 400lbs. I'm thrilled to report that to date, I've NEVER had to re-tighten the seat back in place. It has remained firmly in place since the day it was installed. Now, for the most impressive part, and the sole reason for me writing a review so many years later... COMPANY CUSTOMER SERVICE IS TOP NOTCH!!! I work with the public and can't tell you how many people I've shared this photo and story with. For a couple of reasons. 1) I'm still impressed the company cared about helping me by standing by their product rather than taking more of my money. 2) Who knew? They taught me a life learning hack I'll use again for other things that I had no idea was a simple as a piece of sandpaper. You see, when you look at the before picture, it's an embarrassing looking seat from discoloration. My first cat scratched it up, way back when I bought it, while using the toilet to do his business. Thus the dirty looking scratches. Along with that, there's discoloration that I think might be from like sitting down to dry my hair and the dye from my pants rubbed on to it, permanently leaving a discolored stain. And don't ask me what that purple (acid from cleaner?) stain is on the top of the toilet seat cuz I never did come up with an answer but what I do know is I (along with a few different hired house cleaners) have tried everything out there to get rid of the ugly for it became embarrassing whenever someone other than me wanted to use the toilet. I kept a thing of disinfectant wipes next to the toilet for anyone who felt a wipe down was needed before they sat down. Fast forward to today. I finally decide it's time to afford a new one, I'm done being embarrassed. Before I do though, I think to myself, let me write an email to the company to inquire what could cause that and what could I do differently going forward so that won't happen with a new seat. Their answer in a nutshell was to save myself money, don't buy a new one. Instead, get some "fine" sandpaper and sand it out. Ta-da! WOW! You see that brand new looking toilet seat on the right?! That is truly the same seat I inquired about, using fine sandpaper! I've had others think it's new before I told the rest of my story but nope, same toilet seat that I bought OVER 10 years ago. Suddenly the cost of this seat was pennies, rather than too expensive to buy when there's so many available to purchase for $20 bucks or so. My UNPAID testimony for this company... I gain nothing by leaving this review. I just really really wanted to share with others who may be skeptical on spending the extra money on buying a new toilet seat. This is the cheapest cost, yet best made one out there once you break it down on how often it needs replacing the looseness of a budget friendly seat. Not to mention the durability is PHENOMENAL. Only drawback... so many say it looks like a cowboy hat in the pics they've seen. They aren't wrong... it is VERY LARGE brimmed, funny looking actually, yet extremely comfy. 🙃😂 THANK YOU, Big John! It might look funny , but it's so much more comfortable than the seat that came with my new toilet. It seems that your legs have to be the width of the sides of the seat. This works better in the real world that scrawny one.

This is by far the best toilet seat 've invested in. It's worth every penny. I live in a household full of big plus size men and I have gone through so many toilet seat that don't last. This is one of the sturdiest toilet seats ever the plastic material is so washable and thick. It has not shifted once. The material is great and I love the way its design underneath. That design keeps the seat from shifting. The quality is A++. Very easy to install. My son installed it within minutes.

I purchased this toilet seat because we needed a sturdier seat in our bathroom. When I saw that it was rated to support up to 800 lbs, I thought, "Great! This is a super strong toilet seat. Just what we need!" What I didn't take into account was that it would be large enough to accommodate 800 lb butt cheeks. This thing is HUGE! I should have checked the specs. That's my fault. This seat does fit on a standard toilet, but it is VERY wide. It is taking some getting used, but I'd rather keep it and feel confident that we have a seat that won't break. I still don't love this toilet seat, but it is indeed, very sturdy. If you are an extremely wide and/or obese person, this seat should be very well suited for your needs. I think this seat would also be helpful for those with disabilities since it offers a wider and more stable surface than your standard toilet seat. One negative about this seat though is that my 4 year old is scared to death of falling in the toilet using this seat and her "potty seat" slides around a lot on this seat. She has to kind of turn it to the side to keep herself and the "potty seat" from falling in the toilet. We didn't have this issue when using a standard size seat.

I'm giving the Big John toilet seat mixed reviews. On the plus side, the item was easy to install, and the directions were clearly written and illustrated. I thought the seat was comfortable, but my husband, for whom the seat was purchased, said it didn't fit him properly. On the negative side, it is an enormous toilet seat; others have said so in their reviews, but you really need to see it in person to get the full impact. Other negatives go to the inability to return. While Amazon will issue return upon approval of the seller, the seller will only take the seat back if it has been unused, and it must be returned in its original packaging. A 20% restocking fee and shipping are deducted from your purchase if your seat meets the other requirements. Only purchase this item if you are 100% sure that you will keep it. Don't throw away $80.00 like I did.

There's a bit of a learning curve to using this toilet seat because it is so much larger than standard seats! That being said, it is absolutely worth the effort and cost! This seat is solid, easy to install, very comfortable to sit on, and does not jiggle or shift when one is twisting and moving to wipe/wash up! My old toilet seat actually took twice as long to take off as this seat did to put on! And because the seat fits directly onto the rim of the toilet bowl rather than sit upon it, it doesn't get as dirty underneath! Also, the seat has an outward curve rather than an inward curve, which raises the seat slightly, making it easier to stand up and making the edge more rounded and less abrasive against the back of the hand when reaching back to wipe! I'm very happy with this purchase and highly recommend it!

Really great for overweight, obese people. Took a long time to deliver because of some customs hold up but it is worth the wait. Especially for older, overweight people. I had ordered it for my mother who is a senior citizen and obese. Earlier her thigh would get cut in some of these Indian toilet seats and most of them are built so fragile they break. This is sturdy, plus it can be fixed in Indian oval or round toilets so don't worry. It doesn't that much height, so it's perfectly safe. And it's wide and not sharp, so comfortable seating and no thigh cuts or marks. The packaging is great. You also get hygiene wipes with this which is so amazing. They provide all the hooks but some of those might not be compatible with your Indian toilet. We fixed the seat with the old hooks and it fit perfectly. Unfortunate that we had to import it. No Indian seller online or even in stores have such a product which is horrible.

Such a solid seat. I do not challenge the weight limit but the seat is so solid and does not move or wobble once installed. Expensive yes but worth the money.

We have had this for over a year. It was easy to install and has not broken yet. The person who uses this has poor balance and weighs over 300 lbs. we were having to replace broken seats every few months. Admittedly it looks odd but it works so we are happy.
