Old hand pleased!
I have done, do and shall continue to do the Peyote Stitch, it's my heritage. I really hesitated to buy this book due to the fact this was the first stitch I learned as a child. But as anyone knows, looking at anothers' works can inspire you. That is exactly what happened here as I was thumbing through this book. The incorporation of the cube bead in the bracelet and earrings is ingenious. It's nice to see a different take on tribes' patterns. I'm not one to be offended when I see others' using First People stitches/patterns/etc. Instead I view it as a compliment, as copying someone is the sincerest form of flattery.I am amused and intrigued by the use of the straw. Being a people that use the whole of the animal and left no 'garbage' on the Plains, recycling is close to my heart. The drinking straw still amuses me though...My cousins to the south do something similar to the vessels on the last few pages of the book, the color and patterns are different and the colors chosen are interesting. The Bargello is by far the most inspiring! I can see so many things to do with this simple concept I have never dreamed of before. The Dutch spiral just sings and I can see so very many uses for this concept as well. The collars beg for elk teeth to adorn them. The two layers within the cuff are again unique to my heritage but I can see where I can use the concept to apply things differently. The twists and ruffles make the beads travel in ways I was taught are mistakes... I am rethinking some things I have been taught because of this book and that is a good thing I believe. Growth is always good.I'm glad I decided 'just to get it to complete the book series' as I am impressed.

Stitch Workshop: Peyote Stitch: Basic Techniques, Advanced Results
Some of the projects I remember seeing in the magazine, but I really liked it anyway because it's good to have peyote stitch projects all in one place. Peyote stitch being my favorite stitch is the reason I ordered this book. However, I'll probably order all of the books in this new series. The stitch instructions along with the tools needed are very well illustrated in color which is helpful. Anyone new to peyote stitch and veteran's who love the stitch would enjoy having this book in their jewelry making library. The projects are LOVELY!

BEAUTIFUL PROJECTS!!
I have several beading books and really shouldn't be buying any more, but I'm glad I bought this one. There are 27 projects in this book and I actually like MOST of them! Usually, with beading books I'm lucky if there's more than a couple of things from the book that I actually want to make. The designs in this book are really beautiful! The instructions are clear and the great photos and illustrations make them easy to follow. This book is great for beginners and experienced beaders. Highly recommended!

GREAT
This is not a good book for and new beginner, but for someone that has been beading for a minute and have had difficulty with the Peyote Stitch will have some clarity upon completion of a project. This book will get you to mastering one of the best techniques with off loom beading

Not up to Bead and Button standards
I am an experienced beader and I found many of these projects difficult to understand. The instructions leave a lot of gaps, and there is no assistance with color. Even the most difficult projects that appear in the magazine are more complete and easier to understand. Even as a beginner I was able to decipher the expert level patterns in the magazine. Some of the more expert patterns in the back of this book leave out critical information. I will be sending this book back to Amazon with great disappointment.

Good, but not for beginer.
One of my teenage kids makes beads and bracelets to sell at fairs, and as a hobby. Always looking for new ideas and found this book had some good ideas and good instruction. I recommend to buy a used copy in good condition like we did, save you the money.Found this book a little challenging.

A must for your library maybe the only beading book you'll ever need
I buy many beading books some have two or three patterns that I like and actually make and that is ok BUT.... I love every pattern in this book, truly is a joy looking at it and deciding what to try next. All the patterns are well layer out and pictures are beautiful. You won't be dissapointed in this book!!!
