Build N Race - Nintendo Wii

My son age 11 loves this game. He can design his own track and you can design your type of car.

I got this for someone else and I guess it is ok they only have played it a few times since I got it for them. Thats why I don,t buy games for people as often as I used to.

My son asked for this game after reading many reviews and product description. He has not been disappointed. Quote: Game is easy to use and play and great fun!

Man! I bought this game with very low expectations. It was cheap, I didn't know the maker. But wow is this game crappy. It has all the excitement of the racing games from the 80s. The control/steering is terrible, the physics make no sense, I've won a half dozen races and I'm still limited to the same two cars.I didn't try the "make a track" section because I was so disillusioned with the actual racing so I can't comment on that. But it would have to be really outstanding in order to redeem this lame purchase. Stick to the mainstream games.

This is a good game, however there are a few things that you might not like.There are only two cars available when you start the game and it will take sometime to unlock the rest. Its way too easy to get stuck somewhere in the track. At that point the race is lost and you have to restart over. A way to avoid this is to limit the use of the nitro/booster. The track editor is not that simple because you have to combine the right pieces. Said that, the game has a lot of built in tracks, different challenges and the editor will increase the longevity of this game.

I was looking for racing games for the Nintendo Wii and saw Build N Race. The name conjured images in my mind of a more modern Excite Bike or Mach Rider on the NES. Sadly that wasn't the case. Build N Race isn't a bad racing game, it just feels sloppy. Building race tracks can be a bit difficult as there doesn't seem to be any tutorial on how to put things together and let me tell you, you can easily ruin a track by placing things together that simply don't go together. The racing itself is challenging because the AI is really fast and controls are a bit messy. Again, I can't say this game is all bad, but it's for sure not all good.

We ordered for our son in law. Gave it as a gift. We've not heard anything about its quality or entertainment value. So, I would conclude that it is modest in value.
