VAMP U

One of the best vampire comedies of recent years
I went into Vamp U not expecting much at all. Was I in for a treat. This is such a great ensemble cast and they know how to do comedy right. The whole feel of the film reminded me of old school monster movie comedies from the 80s--My Best Friend is a Vampire, Teen Wolf, etc. Adam Johnson, who plays the vampire teacher, gives an amazing comic performance, and all the actors playing his students know how to bring out the teen comedy style. On top of that, the movie is loaded with classic teen movie hi-jinx and sex jokes with the added vampire angle for horror fans. And the cast, from the sorority babes to the frat boys, is nice to look at.If you grew up on horror flix and teen comedies, definitely check this one out. It became an instant favorite in my collection.

vampire comedy with thrills.
First of all I noticed on youtube a video of the movie and I saw the trailer, so you must say I bought it from impulse but as I watch it, I really enjoy it. I will not bore on the details however I will say on the thrills they got it on the money, on the comedy they were a few faults. but I feel the producers have done a pretty decent job so I hope I see more of the stars Julie Gonzalo, Alexis Knapp and Adam Johnson. By the way the film is not rated so for me I would rated R mostly for the language, mild violence. so enjoy VAMP U

Just download the cover
The cover of this movie is as about as much skin as you'll see. Julie Gonzalo is a very nice looking actress playing several roles.Adam Johnson plays a vampire (Wayne Gretzky) who is also a university professor. He frequently sees a shrink (Gary Cole). He regrets long ago killing the love of his life. He meets a student Julie Gonzalo who reminds him of his long-dead love (sound familiar?). They form a relationship. They get it on a bit - none of which you see (the closest is where Julie's buttoning up her top. He ends up putting the bite on her, turning her into a vampire. She then turns all the other girls in her sorority into vampires... and this isn't done well either. There's very very little positive to say about this, other than a couple of nice looking ladies. You can see the only bits worth seeing on youtube and that goes just over 1 minute

Humorous Bite
This is a fun movie to watch with a slightly different twist to the vampire theme. Lots of humor and enjoyable. In the vein of "Dead and Loving it".

Not a bad vampire movie - not great, but okay
Not what I expected. Vamps active in the daytime (the old umbrella trick like in "Nightmare Before Christmas" - look it up). The box picture was representative of the story - not anything actually seen in the story. Some silliness, some back history (to explain the lead vampire's little "problem") and some resolution. It was kinda okay.

Steve's Review
I admit I checked this one out without any high expectations. The cast is mostly unknown to me and the story seemed a little odd. I was pleasantly surprised that the cast was actually pretty effective and the story held together and I am a fan of dark humor which runs all through this movie. It is rather graphic in parts so be warned but if you are looking for a rental worth a view as a popcorn movie then I recommend this one for your consideration.

Wasted potential
The trailer made this look like it could be a fun and silly college romp, reminiscent of something Dean Cameron might be a part of. This is one of those films really burdened by the shackles of the PG-13 rating. Based on the trailer, I actually didn't even check what it was rated. That is how sure I was that it would be R. Ridiculously over the top and corny gore, nudity, sexual content, and even language are painfully absent here. Now, I don't need that stuff in every movie I see, but c'mon. This is exactly the stuff a film like this calls for. Beyond that, the script doesn't make any sense and I just lost more and more interest as it continued. There are a few funny moments, mostly from Wayne Gretzky (the professor vampire) and Gary Cole (who is almost always reliable for at least a few laughs).

it's just ok
Not a great movie, but not a terrible one either. I would have given it 3-and-a-half stars if I could have.

Vamp U too.
I bought this for a friend who liked this movie. I was concerned that it would not play in the dvd player as it might be a U.S format, but it worked perfectly.
