Great Addition
This solar panel keeps the camera battery at full charge. The additional unit required me to mount the camera at the bottom of my license plate as it was blocking my tailgate latch. The inverted display is corrected in the monitor settings. Very happy with the item.

Yay!
I have tried a number of different backup cameras in the low end price range and had no luck with them at all. You get what you pay for. I decided to spend a little more money and purchase this one. It is wonderful! It was so easy to install. The Bluetooth worked perfectly first time. The clarity is great for my tired old eyes. I also purchased the small solar panel for it. The whole setup is fairly large. I don't mind it except for the fact that I worry because it's very obvious to would be thieves. I am very happy with this purchase it was worth every dime I spent and has made my world a little safer!

Doesn't actually charge, but rather holds it...
EDIT: 5/18 After having enough time to test this, I'm going to bump up the rating since it clearly has increased the longevity of how long the charge remains. Will it keep the battery topped off like the built-in solar chargers? Probably not, but it does seem to be holding the charges especially while being used when it's sunny.I've had older models of back-up cameras from AUTO-VOX with built-in solar panels and I've never had to worry about charging the batteries with them. A day out in the sun is usually enough to keep it topped offSo when my old camera failed (signal issue, not battery), The company sent me a replacement (which was actually a model upgrade, albeit without the solar panel) which was great of them (They do have good customer support). The new camera left me having to recharge it every 2-3 months or so. Not a big deal but a little bit of a pain, so I figured I'd get this aftermarket upgrade, hoping it would do the charging for me.Well...........It doesn't. The panel doesn't quite do any 'charging' so much as it slows down how much battery is being used (which is why they want you to charge the camera fully first), I've had the unit outside in the sun for 3 sunny days, in direct sunlight and I'm still at 2/3 bars. So, not sure if maybe I got a bad unit, or it's really not a charger, but more of a conditioner/maintainer.That being said. If it's able to extend how long I'm able to go without charging.. it's probably worth it.I've seen a few complaints about people saying the screw for mounting it to the camera is missing. You're supposed to use the screw that came with the actual camera as the two ones that come with the panel are for mounting the panel to the bracket and not the bracket to the camera. If I do find that I suddenly go from 2 bars to fully charged, I'll bump this up to a full rating.

It really surprised me it works pretty good.
I had my doubts about the this little thing, but it does what it's supposed to do.

Solar "charger" does nothing
Purchased this "charger" (actually it's supposed to be a "tender" to maintain the charge). The camera is great but only last about 45 days before needing to be charged with no tender on it.Received in the mail, hooked up to my fullly charged camera, last the same 45 days. Customer service contacted me and offered to replace it with they fix promptly.Hooked up second camera to f UK y charged camera again and only lasted for about 45 days again.I tested the solar charger to see what output it was actually producing and shocking enough it's not even reading on my tester. This literally does nothing.
