this is terrible . even with warm oil , it does not do anything, also the flow indicators are backwards, still did not do anything , better off with the tall fluid extractor , i woud return it but to late, just tried to use it last week , total waste of time

This made changing the oil on my Volvo an absolute breeze! I just hooked it up to my battery and swapped my filter while it was draining. All in all it took probably 15-20 minutes and I didnt have to dig out my jack. Well worth it in my book!

I've bought two of these. The first one got the job done for me several times (mostly oil changes) until I ruined it running water through it... the 2nd one immediately busted- it worked, but fluid would leak out of the pump body. I returned the 2nd one and will still buy a 3rd and give it another shot because the first one actually worked well for me until I ruined it...

This little fluid pump is a great idea, although the reality leaves one wishing for more. The hoses the to want to curl as they were when packaged, so dropping these hoses down a dipstick tube with more than 8 inches from the bottom of the oil pan means that the hose curls back up or sideways, which doesn't allow it to remove all of the oil you are trying to remove. Sticking metal tubing into the hose helps sometimes, but makes the inner diameter of your pickup smaller, slowing this down even more. Speaking of slow, don't plan on saving time using this to change your oil. The pump isn't that powerful, and the hose size, being small enough to fit into a dipstick tube, doesn't allow for a large amount of flow. Speaking of flow rate, you can help the flow rate by warming the oil up, making it have less viscosity. When turning the pump off, you can watch the leftover oil in the hose run back down the pickup hose, back into where you're pumping it out of. I'm going to try this in my lawnmowers in the spring, I'm thinking that is where this little unit might shine. Great value for the price though, you get alot for the money. The motor / pump alone is probably worth more than the asking price.
