What does the mounting hardware look like? I seem to have misplaced it

If you’ve lost your mounting hardware, use command strips. I threw away the hardware. It was a few drywall screws from what I remember.

How big is the actual writing area not including the frame ?

Very nice. Plenty of writing space. Two that I ordered are 20 x 30. Kind of large.
