These gouache paints offer great coverage. In my example, you can see that I have painted on a very dark blue paper, but still have excellent coverage by all the colors. Please note that some of these colors came from other Holbein artist's gouache sets, but they are all wonderful. If they dry out, check out Winsor & Newton's blending medium for watercolors. This stuff really extends the drying time, often an issue with gouache paint.

This is such a beautifully curated collection of colours, Holbien gouache is beautifully smooth to work with and amazing quality

Just buy them. They are worth the hype and money.

The only thing I dislike about this paint is the fact that I spent a boat load of money on Windsor and Newton gouache before I discovered it. I have about 7-8 sets of this stuff in various configurations. The basic mixing set is superb, but these and the other Irodori set I own provide some "convenience" colors, saving me time mixing colors, and extending the life of my supply of basic colors. It is expensive, but a little goes a long way. I highly recommend this product.
