Does the job.
So we have somehow ended up with three cats and a dog. And somehow these animals are more inside animals than we ever intended them to be.This means we have more cat and dog hair than we ever thought possible.I bought this thinking I'd try it because sometimes along the bottom of the baseboard the carpet seems to attract cat and dog hair. I thought this might help us clean out the corners of the carpets. The other day my kid spilled cat food on the carpet and the vacuum was tearing it up and leaving 'red' streaks on my carpet. So we tried this little broom thingy Wow were we impressed. This swept up the cat food without breaking it up into pieces. And during the course of the sweeping up cat food we found that this broom picked up a lot of cat/dog hair. We started using this on other areas of the carpet and were shocked by how much cat and dog hair there was left on a floor that had recently been vacuumed. (We vacuum almost every day, cue to cats/dogs and dust that blows in off the desert). We plan on using this prior to our vacuuming every time now.As a side note- it does not sweep like a broom on a regular floor. This wasn't meant to do that and it doesn't do that.Well worth the money.Enjoy.

I do recommend this broom for homeowners that have pets and even ...
Owning a carpet cleaning biz, I do recommend this broom for homeowners that have pets and even for those that have a lot of females with long hair in the home. It might just save your beater bar on your vacuum from constantly getting entangled and/or help eliminate or avoid repeated belt breakage. My professional recommendation is to use this at least once per week for pets prior to weekly vacuuming. Doing so will help you avoid the typical pet smells we pet owners can grow smell blind to, the kind of smells caused by the build up of oils and dander that come from pet hair. This broom works very well on low pile carpet, area rugs, and because of the retractable handle it works especially well on stairs. Using this on plush carpeting is so tiring and seemingly fruitless that you will not want to do it on a regular basis on a full sized room. But to clean excess hair from where your pet lays in the sun or tends to rest it works well. It is best to use short strokes. It doesn't get deep into the pile, so if you are trying to eliminate odors caused by oils from pet hair that is deeply embedded into the carpet forego this broom. In those situations, it's best to vacuum slowly and methodically in one direction, then vacuum again in the opposite direction. After you are done with that, repeat the process. Seriously, up to 85% of soil in carpet is dry soil, so vacuuming both regularly and properly is the single best thing you can do to keep up the appearance and cleanliness of your carpet.

Must have for anyone with a carpeted house!
I initially bought this broom to rake out the fur from our carpets since we just got a cat. His fur is really fine though so I'm not sure if this is the best thing for it. Also we haven't had him long enough to get that much fur in the carpet to really test it out. What this broom did, however, was take a LOT of my own (really long) hair out of the carpet as well as other fibers and stuff that were harder to remove with just our vacuum. My husband has been complaining about all my hairs on the carpet since its EVERYWHERE. A few rakes of this broom and it took it all right out which impressed us both immensely since we didn't even buy this broom for that purpose.I'll still have to see how effective it is for cat fur but for other things, this broom has worked wonders. I highly recommend! Also, I have to say that this broom feels very sturdy. I was looking at other brooms like this on Amazon which were cheaper but in the end I decided on this one despite it being more pricey. It looked sturdier on the pictures than other products like it and it actually is. I don't see the handle breaking off unless I actually try and break it on purpose which is good since I really push the broom into the carpet to get the hairs out.

I guess nothing beats getting dog hair off the carpet than a good ol’ shoe
It’s okay I guess. I guess nothing beats getting dog hair off the carpet than a good ol’ shoe. I was looking something that would be more efficient and easier to use than pushing hair into piles with your shoes on but it really doesn’t make it any easier. I found it “combs” the hair on the carpet rather than roll the hair together like my shoe does. It takes many passes to get the same effect as my shoe doing one pass. Not really impressed in that aspect.Otherwise a solid product as far as build quality. And it collapses down to a real nice compact length.

This thing works on long hair and hay!
My husband decided to grow his hair long, and it is thick and about to his waist. I have semi long hair. So there is hair everywhere in the carpet, and it spells vacuum cleaner Doom. This thing gets out the hair, I just go over the area a couple of times with the broom side, and the hair comes out. I was cleaning clump after clump. We have indoor pet rabbits. They eat hay. And somehow the hay gets everywhere. Hay is also a vacuum cleaner Destroyer as well, and I can't sweep it up with a traditional broom on carpet. But with the Squeegee side the hay gets pushed along quite nicely and is so easy to clean up.Our vacuum cleaner is now so much happier! It is much easier to keep it clean as well. We are (okay mostly me) so much happier! Our carpets are so nice looking and not creepy feeling with hair that is stuck between the fibers. Some have complained about the handle being weak, but so far I haven't had any problems and I've be using this item a lot. My only regret is that I didn't get the Mr. Siga sooner. Much, much sooner.
