I like these shorts & have a pair already in a 20 now I need them in either a 18 or 16. The lowest size to select from is a 36. What size is that?

Hi-I wondered that too!! Click on the ‘Levi’s size chart.’ It shows the 18/20 U.S. size as being a 34. It also lists waist & hip sizes. Good luck. If they don’t work, you should be able to exchange them.

My waist is 31 and hips 38 so what size do I order?

I would go with a 6/7 if you like them fit or 8/9 if you like them loose.

I don't understand the sizes 28w 29w etc. what does it mean? what would be a size 12 equivalent? thanks!

It is waist, but since these hit just below the waist it would be a bit higher. A size 12 should be equal to a 30 or 31 or 32. Get two to try and shipping returns are free with most Amazon purchases. Check first!

Are these plus size or juniors? I wear an 18 plus size and the 18's on these say 34 when other levi's say 38 (18 us) so I'm confused?

i think the sizing is juniors. i wear 00 and the ones i got are 24s. they fit perfectly. i believe the numbers they use are waist sizes. mine are correct for my waist so i assume the others are the same. i suggest you measure your waist and order from that number. hope this is helpful.
