When my old laptop died, I decided I was done with Microsoft and I bought a Chromebook. An EXCELLENT move I am very happy with, except, the lack of USB ports for external hard drives and other devices. I had removed my old laptop hard drive and optical drive and slipped each into a case to use with the Chromebook through USB, but it bogged the machine down and my bluetooth keyboard and mouse would not work while the hard drive was plugged in. Did a little research and found what I likely needed was a powered USB hub for the external devices. I ordered this one (4 powered ports and one for charging) and it seems to be working super. I am writing this review while the old hard drive is being backed up onto another external. So I'm running TWO external hard drives off my Chromebook and it is working very well. A couple very brief pauses, but I am quite pleased. AND, now I have more ports! The blue lights on it remain on unless you turn off the device that is plugged into it. That may be my only complaint. The lights are kinda bright. I wish I could turn them off without unmounting the devices.An excellent value for the money.

When I received this Hub, I was impressed with the high quality of the hub and cables. In use, it's easily the simplest, well laid out and excellent performing hub I've used in years. The ports are illuminated when powered on and the port power switch is really handy for ejecting individual devices. I like the powered feature. It has enough power to provide 1Amp to each port simultaneously. Have been using for 3 weeks.Good buy!6/21/18 Update: Second purchase for an IMAC 27.

A couple of weeks of service and it's still fast and the switches easy to activate. The charging port works very well for all my devices. My only wish was that the suction cup pad provided was a bitr more secure, once placed, but it's an easy thing to substitute velcro for a sturdy mount. Nice hub, priced right and shipped FAST!

I often have trouble with hubs, which usually don't work consistently. One or more ports are usually unreliable. So I bought one of these.I was so pleasantly surprised at the good construction, but was even more delighted when I plugged it in. Each of the four ports can be powered on or off and used only as needed without wasting electricity or burning out the unused port(s). It was so good that I bought another one for my office.I've had them about two months and they're extremely steady. No problems and I'm very, very happy.

An excellent product and it works as advertised. It is light in weight, and I used the Velcro strips supplied with the hub to secure it to my computer desk top. The on off buttons for the ports work as described by holding the button down until the light goes off. I started mine with the 110 volt power source connected. I then found the hub works fine without the power hookup, and I removed the power hookup. I would expect that the the charging USB port on the front of the hub no works as a charging port, which I had no use for anyhow since I use a desktop computer and not a laptop and don’t use my computer as a device charging station.

The LYFNLOVE 4 port powered-hub does just what it's supposed to do. I have a printer, external Seagate HD (USB-powered), and a mouse plugged in to it. All work fine. The added charging port works well for iPhone. It came with a double-sided suction cup strip, but that doesn't work too well for me. I have it sitting on its side, and the alignment is good. I've had for a couple of weeks, and I'm glad I bought it.

My computer lost USB ports, used this and now I have USB ports . Best part is that it is powered and will not affect my laptop if I draw too much power, the reason I had to go this route

The customer service is one of the rarest and most persistently inquiring I have ever scene. They contacted me, talked and even followed up. They even plant to have a new suction cup made it sounds like. My previous comment is attached below. Also, I gave them 3 stars at first, but changed it to 5 because of the customer service and that the device has had zero technically issues thus far.
