Q: In the description is says this is heavy weight stitching. did you in fact receive the heavy weight stitching or was it thin?

Technically, I don't believe there is any "stitching" in this Shemagh, despite the product description. However, the woven fabric is indeed slightly heavier than most Shemaghs. I have different more standard Shemagh that I would describe as pretty thin, and as a result it lets air easily pass through the fabric which is good in warm sunny weather. This Shemagh wont breath quite as easily as standard Shemaghs, but it will be more durable and will provide more warmth if it is cool. I still use it in hot weather occasionally.

Q: Where are these manufactured? Do they shrink and scrunch up when washed like the made in pakistan ones i buy at the swap meet?

Made in Pakistan, India, etc. I love mine, but don't wash in a machine. Hand wash in the sink with a little soap, rinse, and air dry. Will last a long time.
