As a "Knife Snob" I wasn't sure about this one, but WOW !!!!
OK, so I'll admit, I am a snob when it comes to Knives. I have a set of Henckels that I paid over $1100 for 15yrs ago that I protect with my life, and a set of Dalstrong "Valhalla" that are my daily drivers (and i absolutely LOVE) - BUT along with such snobbery comes a sense of over-protection, which i will admit to and am not proud of - and drives my "Other Half" stark raving lunatic MAD at Me on a regular basis. Enter the plan to reluctantly buy her a "do-all" knife of her own - and i say "Reluctantly" because she doesn't share my snobbery and likes "Pretty Things" meaning she was showing me all kinds of funky, colorful knives that made me cringe at the thought of having to share kitchen space with. Seriously, i will admit i need help. LOL. Enter this Red Sword. When she showed it to me i basically said something nondescript and didn't even really LOOK at the page - i mean, cmon, it's a RED knife, so i assumed Ceramic or some cheesy piece of culinary offense ... Until she said "But it's a DALSTRONG" ... So i turned back and figured, OK, maybe it was worth a second look. NOW, of course i immediately saw the funky handle, the red (again, i just couldn't look at it seriously due to the color) but read the description and was actually impressed enough to order it for her, heck, if it sucks, send it back, right? WRONG. i was wrong, and the first step to recovery is to admit that ... OK, yeah, the handle is still of-putting to ME, but WOW, it actually feels FAR better in the hand than i would ever have imagined. True to the Dalstrong legacy, the packaging, etc was impeccable, and WOW the balance, heft, etc kinda all came together quickly, and made Me secretly freak out like a kid on Christmas eve because i REALLY wanted to give it a test-run at dinnertime. Which i did. IF You can get past the "red" (or if that's your "Thing") this is a serious, quality piece, especially at the price point. The 15deg blade is razor sharp out of the box and after using it twice, once to carve up/debone a pork shoulder prior to smoking and once to slice up some veggies - I am impressed. Time will tell, but as a Dalstrong Fanboy I am sure that the quality is there, and again, dismissing the funky look of the handle, the color etc it fits well in the hand and performs better than expected. If the color chips, fades, etc or if there are issues down the line i will obviously update the review - but as far as first impression(s) in USE, if You can get past the color and funky look this is actually a seriously high-quality knife for the price.

Nice Knife, Cool Color Series, Light and Good Balance
I have several good knives of other brands, but this red one really caught my eye! Wife's favorite color is red, and it being a Dalstrong should make a great knife to have around for years! I got "The Crixus" as I don't have blade of this shape. Despite its size, it's fairly light and easy to maneuver and work with. The balance is right at the forward "point' of the handle. And the handle, despite the angular looks, is quite comfortable to hold - tuck your index finger up closer to the blade, and the thickest part fits right into your middle finger, then it slims out for your other fingers. It comes well packaged in a padded box, includes felt lined plastic sheath (make sure its fully dry before placing it in the sheath to prevent mold), and even has a cool pin representing the Dalstrong line. RECOMMENDED

Beautiful chef and cleaver knife
Super luxurious chef & cleaver hybrid knife for yourself and loved ones. Super luxurious on red nonstick coating, liquid nitrogen cooled blade, fiber-resin and military grade G10 handle. It featured high-carbon premium steel for extraordinary performance and edge retention, geometry tucks handle for firm and comfort grasp, full tang blade for extra strength. The chef & cleaver hybrid knife is ultrasharp and light. It just performed outstanding for cutting, slicing, carving, and dicing for meat, fish, vegetables as it stated. The chef & cleaver hybrid knife is a statement about you and your style as a chef once you have it. The package also includes a luxurious box, beautiful sheath, and detailed instructions.

For the glory of Rome.
Love this “Crixus” blade. Extremely sharp, lightweight and effective. I’m no professional chef, so I don’t need the most expensive or the best knives, but to me this is way more than sufficient for any kitchen tasks. It slices just about anything with ease. Everything might as well be made of butter. The shape of the blade seems to make most tasks easier, from cutting meats off of the grill to chopping vegetables. The cuts are easy and precise. Only time will tell how long it keeps it’s edge, but so far, so good. I love the styling of the handle and the color. It really stands out on my magnetic knife rack and find myself reaching for it more often than any other knife, and shouting “For the glory of Rome!” each time.

Gorgeous, light, sharp
Wish I had the whole set, they look amazing! The overall blade was thinner than expected, and lent to the lightness of the knife. I found that the blade edge dulls quicker than my other blades, so I suggest ensuring you have a honing tool nearby when using it. I know I've already said this, but I really think this knife looks great and really shows what Dalstrong is. I already own multiple other Dalstrong products I've purchased over the last couple years and I think they have great products with great visual impact and I'm always watching their releases to see if there's something additional from their collections that I can add to mine. Anyways, keep up the good work Dalstrong.

I want to say 'Nice Knife but Gimmicky'
This company makes some pretty nice knives but this one feels like a bit of a miss. It is thin and sharp, shaped like a cleaver out of a video game and colored bright red. The handle is also bright red plastic and the only place you can really see that there is metal is at the tang and on the blade. It is made of steel and is highly magnetic. It comes with a blade guard (also plastic) which is useful because there are no wooden blocks that I am aware of capable of holding this shape blade. It is kind of like a scimitar. Not sure how one would sharpen this eventually without ruining the red finish. I guess very carefully. Definitely a useable knife but honestly, for the price, it feels cheap and too light.
