I have other GU10 bulbs on the same circuit that have wiring directly to the GU10 porcelain base; never warmer than body temperature; I have older recessed cans were designed for Edison screw in bulbs; needed this adapter to change from screw in to GU 10; these bulbs in older cans when converted to handle GU10 base get so hot you can not touch them; something is wrong here

Poor description. I bought these because they state that they are made of porcelain and aluminum. These are PLASTIC! I needed these for a bulb for my tortoise habitat and these will melt. I like my pet too much to gamble with a possible fire. I'm so tired of the wrong descriptions when buying from Amazon. They really should have someone that checks the description with the product. SMH

Very helpful. We replaced some old halogen lamps with LEDs, and I'm using the old lamps for close-up lights.
