Is it safe to put hot pads in this?

I guess you could, the opening where the plastic heart beat device is is very small though. The heart beat takes a battery, but my puppy didn't use this at all. it didn't help with his anxiety or help with sleeping or anything. He just ignores it. I still have it and he is almost 15 months now and has never even played with it. You do have to watch as they can chew and open the Velcro opening on the belly where the heart is and that could be dangerous to them if they chew on it. As they get bigger I would remove the heart so they don't swallow it. Took an old blanket with our scent on it and an old shirt with my scent and that worked better.
