A very easy swap with the old, malfunctioning contraption. This was VERY easy and works perfectly.

This latch lock was a perfect fit for my 2016 Toyota Corolla Sport S. It was easy to install and fixed my trunk that would not latch or lock. Only complaint was that it was shipped in a plastic envelope that arrived torn and had concerns part would be damaged. Part was not, just scratched up.

My Hatch on my 2016 Kia Sorento SX V6 stopped working while I was on a road trip 500 miles from home. I was a little panicked and I saw this. Most auto parts places don’t have it in stock. I ordered the part on a Friday evening and it arrived at an Amazon locker on Sunday morning. I picked it up borrowed some tools watched and re-watched a really good YouTube tutorial on it and replaced it myself in about 30 minutes. I’m sure it saved me hundreds of dollars from having to do this at a repair shop or a dealership. Having some sturdy ratchet wrenches and and a power tool to quickly remove and reattach screws, and a flat head screwdriver (to assist gently prying the panels off) is what you need. You might be a little intimidated by the force required to get some of the panels off because they are wedged in pretty tight with the plastic clips, but I didn’t break anything. Once I installed the new part on the hatch, I tested it before replacing the panels and it worked perfectly. I called around and it I would’ve cost anywhere from $500 to $700 to have this thing replaced at the dealer. Even if you don’t think you’re handy, get this part and have a mobile mechanic, put it in for you. It will save you a bundle of cash.
