Buyer concerns
I was really excited about this purchase but then stumbled upon few issues. I followed instructions verbatim about how to prime the stone prior usage by slowly cooking it, raising the temperature 100° at the time for one hour. Within a few days of usage a hairline crack appeared on the surface. Also, instructions clearly state note to use any metal brush or a scrape on it as it could permanently damage the stone and develop cracks, which makes it impossible to clean if any bread dough gets stuck to it. Also, It says not to use water to clean it and if failure to follow instructions could Crack the stone in an explosive way.

Odorous fumes FILLED my house
I bought this directly from the maker's website and am incredibly disappointed by the "drying" that you have to do before using it. The smells that resulted in my home are incredibly unnatural and leave me wondering if there are VOCs present or, if the gases have been tested for public safety as well as the materials that make up the stone. I have yet to bake with it yet as we just finished the "drying process". The smell was so strong and thick that it was making my throat burn, so my family and I had to leave our house and come back every hour to turn up the heat. Then we had to air out the entire house with windows and doors open...in January...in upstate NY. Seems like something the company should do before shipment if possible. I really hope this thing is worth it.

Use two stones for better results
I purchased mine online directly from the factory in suburban Chicago a few years ago. Never had any problem.Baking is better with two pizza stones--one located at the very bottom of the oven and the other stone placed in a rack just a bit higher than whatever is being baked. This way the items are baked more thoroughly inside this mini oven. Moreover, the upper stone could also be used in a somewhat similar manner, this time serving as the floor of another mini oven using the oven's remaining space, although there are some minor differences in the heating characteristics between the two mini ovens.
