APC External UPS Black (BN900M)

One reviewer said this was "garbage" because you can't get the plugs into it. When I read this, I had already bought and was using my first one. After reading this negative review, I bought 2 more. Yes, the backup's receptacles are snug, but some people are mechanically inclined and others are not. A plug will go in just fine if you hold the prongs at a 90 degree angle and push down using some pressure; then they will go in just fine. When I encountered this, I just did this automatically without giving it a thought. That's how little of a deal it was. No it won't go in as easily as your kitchen toaster plugs into your kitchen outlet. The bottom line is that if a lady has trouble with plugs, just have her husband or boyfriend do it. There is nothing wrong with this battery back-up.

Bought many of these units, design is great and wall mountable orte desktop. Out of more than 20 did have one failure during 1 st 2 weeks , replaced early and no more issues. As a professional company I recommend this product.

The design of this UPS is different from the earlier model and not easy to replace Battery. Previous model has a access door and compartment for easy access and changing of battery. This model requires dissembling of the UPS to get to the Battery. Very poor improvement design. Will not buy again!

Have two units. Both failed with first 6 months of use, with one failing about 3 weeks after the other. Tech support said replace the battery. Found a Batteries Plus store who had an exact replacement from a great battery brand, but that did not fix the issue. Both UPS units emit the constant alarm tone and won’t power up. Waste of money in my opinion.

The stock battery went bad and when it did it swelled to the point that it could not be removed from the unit, which effectively rendered it as e-waste junk. They need to design the battery bay with tolerances that allow for a swollen battery to be removed without destroying the unit.
