A Wonderful Gift
My Precious Grandaughter recieved a new baby brother last December and I could not resist giving her and her parents the book because she in fact was a "New Sister" and sometimes it is scarry for little ones to get aquainted with the idea that Mom and Dad's time will be shared with a New Little Someone...so it was perfect. She had just turned three years old and she enjoyed the book very much...she giggles alot when Grandma reads to her!

Great Book
Love this book. We bought this for our two yr old girl 5 or 6 months before our new little one arrived and read it several times a week over the course of that time. She loved it and still likes for us to read it to her and her baby sister is now 3 months old. It's a quick read for kids, enjoyable, and our daughter loves the last page with the family picture of mom, dad, big sister, and baby.

Great Book
I ordered a bunch of "new big sister" books for my 2 year old before my son was born. She loves reading this one, even after he arrived and she is constantly asking to read her "big sister" book. It explains many of the daily routines of having a new baby in the house. I usually switch out the word "baby" and replace my son's name to make it more personal.

Good for Younger Kids, Stays at a High Level
My daughter is 2.5 and we checked a few big sister books out from the library. She asked to read this one so much I figured it was worth the seven bucks to buy it when I could no longer renew it. It stays at a higher level then a lot of the other books and skipping touchier issues (for example no mention of breast or bottle feeding goes straight to eating solids). It also focuses heavily on the positive and doesn't talk about the negative as much, which I've seen arguments for and against that approach. What I've really liked it about it is my daughter identifies with the big sister in the book and has been able to tell me her feelings through talking about the character. For example one page when the big sister is peaking in a doorway at her mom and dad holding the baby my daughter told me the big sister was scared. We then talked about all the things big sisters could do when they were scared. That was pretty dang awesome :).

Perfect book
My granddaughter wanted it read over and over. Told exactly what having a new baby sister would be like. Recommend

Cute illustrations, great story, very intuitive for our almost 2 year old.
Very cute book to help us adjust our daughter to our new baby. Thoughtful and cute. We pointed at each character explaining our family to our 2 year old and she would point trying to figure out baby after saying "mommy, Daddy, Me." It is helping make a very difficult transition for her a little easier.

Fantastic!
This is a fantastic book! My daughter loves reading it. I especially like the parts about how the baby can't play with toys, eat apples and ice cream or talk like a big sister can. I think that helps give my little one an idea of what it will be like when the baby gets here. Cute illustrations, great story!

Great for a 2 year old!
I wanted a book that made the concept of a new baby easy for my daughter to understand. This is right at her level. Sweet, short and non-threatening. It doesn't go into super detail about every day life, but a general outline of how things will be different and what she can look forward to.

Language too americanized!
The trouble with buying off the internet is that unexpected things occur. The language used in this book is culturally North American & needs to be spotted early & changed into British cultural English when reading to little ones or it could be like reading it in double Dutch!
