I bought this amp for one purpose, and ended up using it for another, which you may find amusing. My husband is somewhat hard of hearing and it can be frustrating when we're in the car. So I thought, hmmm, I wonder if this amp would help. So I set it up using a microphone with a long cord (we had a really high quality mic that we're using instead of the one that it came with). The cord goes behind the seats and then the amp is secured on the dash in front of him (when he's in the driver's seat) and the unit it so small that it fits there easily without obstructing visibility. When I need to say something, I say it into the microphone and he can hear me perfectly! At first he was super resistant to trying it, and I wasn't actually thinking it would work. But I said "it's just an experiment, let's try it!" We went for a drive, and after awhile he begrudgingly admitted that it worked REALLY well, he was amazed at how well he could hear me. Now our car rides are so much easier and pleasant because he doesn't have to strain to hear me and I don't have to yell. (Now, if the amp came with a feature that filtered out back-seat driving, he'd like it even better, but y'know, you can't have everything.)

Perfect
Very nice little product. So far, it has a long battery charge time and a very clear crisp sound. I took a guitar strap and put a zip tie in the two end holes to make a comfy shoulder strap. It has a very sturdy belt clip that fits perfectly on the stiff end piece of the strap and it sits right there close to my waist. If I'm walking and need to move it to my back, I just shift it around. It's a great set up that way. It's also very cool because it has an extra input for an MP3 or music on your cell phone and it can play at the same time you are using the mic. I plan to use some scary sounds during ghost walk tours. You can control the volume of the music with the cell phone volume controls to get the mix just right. I think you could even use a voice recording just fine for something like a tour, if you don't want to say the same thing over and over. I'm very happy with it and plan to buy several more so everyone on our tours will be able to save voices and be heard better when walking outside.

This little thing surprisingly gets the job done!
This little box gets the job done! I am a music teacher and have had some vocal issues (mostly fixed by vocal therapy) and this little thing has been a lifesaver this school year. It actually sounds pretty decent and a few of my classes didn't even know that I was using it. I worried it might sound tinny, but it really doesn't. I had a fancy $1000 Redcat Access system in my last school that cannot be beat but I got this to use until the next budget season rolls around as I was paying out of my own pocket.First, I knew I could not teach with a headset on so I ordered this clip-on mic - the Olympus Noise Cancelling Microphone - First of all, you need a mono plug - one stripe on the end or it will not work as I had ordered some other fancy thing that had two stripes and I learned my lesson there - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000MYPPPE/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 - this mic works REALLY well. The cord is kind of dangly and needs to be tucked in behind the box, but it gets the job done. I always wear a lanyard with my keys on it so the clip on mic hooks there just fine! Olympus ME-52W Noise Canceling MicrophoneThe waist belt is just marginally okay on this - it's not particularly flattering, but I would not trust the plastic clip on the back to stay clipped alone. (My clip on the speaker actually broke a month into using this speaker as it was clipped into the front pocket of my black dress pants and when I bent over to pick up a student's flute book the clip snapped inside my pocket. Doh! Luckily, I had the lap belt on so the speaker didn't fall and hit the floor.) The lap belt seems to loosen throughout the day and kind of flops around so I do miss having the clip to at least keep it from spinning around to my backside. If I had any creative fashion sense I would try to make my own belt that was kind of stretchy and a bit more flattering. There are loops on the back of the speaker that the current waist belt hooks into. Also - when I have to bend over I know that I need to turn the speaker box off as there is WICKED feedback when the Olympus mic gets close to the speaker. It silences a room of kids, for sure, but that's not quite my teaching approach. =) I am not sure how the mic that comes with it is with feedback.I LOVE that it is rechargeable. It seems to be taking longer to charge than when I first got it in September (It is now January), but I can usually plug it in right at 7:30 am and it is fully charged by 8:00, so that's acceptable. So, if you are looking for a pretty inexpensive option, I would honestly look into the Croove! It definitely has been worth the $ I paid for it so far.

Excellent Voice Amplfier!
My daughter has a paralyzed vocal chord due to cardiac surgery when she was first born. As a result, her voice is very quiet. She loves to sing and recently joined a singing group. We bought a different company's voice amplifier (Very expensive) several years ago and, although it amplified her voice, the sound quality wasn't good. After reading the reviews for this Groove amplifier, we decided to take a chance and buy one. We are THRILLED and more important, our daughter is super satisfied with it. One can turn the volume up quite high without the sound being distorted or crackly. Plus, it's not expensive at all! Assuming this amplifier lasts for a long time, it's a terrific assistive device. We highly recommend it.

Very Happy With This Voice Amplifier
Very, very happy with this voice amplifier! A mentor of mine bought this and I saw it worked so well for him that I bought one when I had to start addressing groups of people at my job. Often there's a lot of background activity going on at work, so I would have to strain my voice just to be heard. With this amplifier, I look forward to working whereas I was concerned about losing my voice before. The volume works well for the classroom size space I speak in. Good sound quality for the price. There is feedback if the mic gets too close to the speaker (when sitting down to speak and the amplifier is clipped to my belt). When standing there is no issue with feedback when the amplifier faces the group (there is feedback if the amplifier is close to and is facing a wall).I would buy this again in a heartbeat if I needed another one. Great value, very reasonable price.
